  • GL getting your old number from TC. I just setup an account with MNF on the whirlpool plan and got a new number.

    • Oh well I can't do that I need that number as it is tied to an organization and would require a lot of heartache and headache for my housemate.

Are you saying there is no chance for me to get my number from Telecube at all? I thought it was only nbn services anyways that was shutting down.

      • You can try but folk over whirpool are saying it's taking 5 days or more. TC is now defunct and the accounts don't seem to have ported over to ST automatically. So put in a request with whoever you go with and see what happens. :)

    • you can easily get your old TC number, it just takes 5 days because the people now operating the business as sip talk don't want to help anyone even though they're the exact same people

      • Any idea if I can just leave the number there since I have a free line rental already or if the phone part of Telecube is also shutting down and when the last port by date is available.

        • I wouldn't wait. With what's being said about telecube/siptalk on whingepool. The siptalk guys must have taken over the telecube VoIP account, and will probably terminate all the old numbers at some point. Even if they don't, it's the exact same guys running the new company, and I'd be surprised if the new company doesn't either go bust itself, or get fined q shit tonne by acma or ACCC or someone. If that happens, the services will all get terminated by the upstream carrier and then there will be issues retrieving numbers.

        • Any idea if I can still get a landline number on FTTN aka non voip in case I decide to go without Internet for a bit. Always loved that option of landline telephone.

        • @AlienC:

well it is still voip, but there are a few providers who do voice only nbn.
