Who Here Is Going to Be Buying Battlefield V, It Might Be The First One I Wont Be Buying

After the first disastrous trailer and comments made from marketing and senior staff will you be putting your hard earned money towards this game ?

Played the beta and had nothing but troubles from the first night of constant disconnects (PC), to bodies randomly floating in the air, to the revive bug where you cant spawn for an entire match etc.

  • No, because it's fairly obvious all EA and Dice are doing is re-skinning and re-releasing the same game mechanic every 12 or so months in an effort to pull the player base across to the newest version.

For that reason, it's not even worthwhile waiting for the game to drop in price, because by the time it does the servers are all but abandoned.

    • I tend to agree. It's the same Battlefield with extra bells and whistles, although the Battle Royale game type does interest me.

Can You Make A Longer Title For Us Please

    • I think they literally can't because they're up against the character limit…

    • Good response, many thankz

  • Haha wait how did EA / DICE attack fans? I've heard BF5 has been a cluster-f but haven't really looked into the details.

DICE havent, it's been just some really high grade dumpster fire defense since battlefront 2's loot box fiasco, up until the reveal trailer for battlefield 5.

In regards to battlefield 5 though Patrick Soderlund replied to outcry about the authenticity of women with 'bionic'arms in world war 2 by stating people in regards to this is "These are people who are uneducated — they don’t understand that this is a plausible scenario, and listen: this is a game".

This is one of many points where Soderlund or other heads of EA have talked down to the customer based in defence of anything brought up by community members, this is the same guy who said that customers dont know what they want, and EA knows what we want, particularly when Command and Conquer mobile game was announced, they basically told the user base 'here is what you want'.

EA is essentially anti-consumer its pathetic.

      • I don't like the guy at all, but he was right to say that in this case. I know it's bad press but why pander to the dumb and ignorant? Why take their shit? The customer is not always right, in fact they are more often than not, wrong. It was clearly a simple prosthetic, which have existed for thousands of years btw, and women did fight in WWII, as they have done for thousands of years, and just because most photography was black and white at the time, does not mean that colour did not exist on the battlefield. The whole thing was ridiculous, and nobody came out looking good.

yeah, completely rediculous, but its a long list of rather dumb moments and less than great handling by EA exec's.

Love BF4, love BF1 even more but absolutely hated the beta for BF5.
Also had nothing but problems even connecting to servers.

In regards to gameplay there are countless problems that make it not fun to play at all. Doesn't feel like bf in character and weapon handling. Health system encourages further engagement distances and pixel hunting. Less chance to use vehicles. Ammo count is too low and ammo and health on spawns on map discourages teamwork. Down time between spawns is longer thus number of players involved in firefights is less and time between kills is more.
Some visual effects are improved but resolution and frame rate looks worse than BF1 to me on PS4, very soft image quality.
    So disappointed.

  • I will be waiting until I hear that multiplayer is stable to play.

It was clearly a simple prosthetic, which have existed for thousands of years btw, and women did fight in WWII, as they have done for thousands of years, and just because most photography was black and white at the time, does not mean that colour did not exist on the battlefield or the battlefields of the thousands of years before that. The whole thing was ridiculous, and nobody came out looking good, particularly the 'gamers'. Dice/EA were right to strike back in this case, sometimes the trolls need to be put in check.

Of course I will be playing this, I play all the single player campaigns for COD/BF, they're short and entertaining, good for a nice couple afternoons. I had a great time playing Battlefield 2 way back in the day, but I'm not into playing online.

Because they are obviously pushing stupid political messages in games.

People just want to play their games without having to deal with this. The COD and Battlefield games were popular because of their realism and historical accuracy, re-fighting real battles and events.

Sure, women did fight in WWII, perhaps around 0.000001% on the front line. It's as disgraceful as the 20% black german soldiers in Battlefield 1 when again they were like 1%.

It's disrespectful to the memories of those who gave their lives.
