My friend and I are about to rent a house in South Australia, and we need to choose an electricity provider. However, there are so many out there, and I have no idea which one is cheapest overall.

I've always thought of that website as a pretend comparison site that earns commissions from whoever is ripping you off for electricity.
I also looked at CompareTheMarket, but that's just even more confusing. There's so many different discounts and schemes to make things "look" cheap, but it just means more things to take into account when determining what exactly I'll be paying in the long run.

From my research so far, Simply Energy appears to be the best. https://www.canstarblue.com.au/electricity/sa-providers/
It has lower prices, and higher customer satisfaction than most other suppliers. However perhaps there are catches I'm unaware of?
