Just quietly, I do think I deserved it though……Earlier today… I was cooking some toast (well bread, hoping to make toast), two slices to be precise.
I went about my tasks, awaiting the pop of the toaster.
‘Hmm’, I thought, a few minutes later, ‘I’m sure I haven’t heard the toaster pop’.
I turned around, and alas, the kitchen was filling up with smoke, confirmed by the smoke detectors seconds later.
Jumped up, I did, forgetting about my torn calf from two weeks ago! (Only for a short time)In sequence, I disposed of the burning toast, and then pulled the batteries from the screeching smoke detectors.
Later on, when diligently browsing the OzBargain forums, I stumbled upon this competition. ‘Right, I’m going to win a toaster’, I thought.
And so the process of sourcing some Lawson’s bread began. To The closest Woolworths I drove. No Lawson’s bread there. Also none at the closest Coles, and the next two Woolworths!
Finally, racing the clock, at the next Coles I found some Lawson’s in stock! Although I did feel ripped off (just until now when I checked the receipt and found it was on special).
Anyway, imagine my relief when, upon entering the competition I became a provisional winner!

Did anyone have a delay in receiving their confirmation email? I entered between 2:00pm and 2:30pm and haven't received an email.
I won a second toaster (two out of four tries) but once again, no email. I'll keep waiting and hopefully won't have to contact them. I contacted them nearly two weeks ago about technical difficulties and never received a response.

Now I'm gonna be honest and say I never actually bought the bread… But hear me out
So I had the bread on the belt at Coles, it was the last item packed out of a $100 shop. The cashier literally took it straight from the belt and bagged it. So I was in a conundrum after I paid and realised, do I go to the car, drop my shopping then go back in for a 2nd loaf (at $5.70), not knowing if I'm gonna win, or do I just chance it? Well I chanced it, and they must have had so many toasters leftover and just validated my receipt without looking.
So toaster arrived today and I needed to shop, so I bought a loaf of Lawson's bread :) it's pretty tasty, but expensive, but I'll happily support a company that runs this sorta comp.

The bread is also currently at a historically low (generally speaking) price of $3.70 a loaf at Woolworth's, the toaster is not the best but it is damn good! I'd easily rate it around 85-90%.
This is actually a good price, a good product and good odds (how many people are going to be bothered?)
