  • They have really good discounts, but man driver coverage around suburbs is absolute abysmal. Tried countless times at different times of the day and never got one. I had a $20 promo which expired last week because I couldn't get a driver to use it. Hell, tried getting one in Chadstone and not a single driver accepted.

    • I was also trying to catch one to Chadstone the other day, ended up giving up and catching an uber

    Better off just using a referral so both referrer and referee get $10 $20 each. or $20 off the 1st ride

    EDIT: Actually it's $20 credit off first ride.

    they don't do identity verification for drivers and there are hundreds of girls got sexually assaulted and murdered in China this year. DO NOT USE them for your own safety

    • From their (Australian) website

      '

      1. REGISTRATION AND APPROVAL TO BE A DRIVER
        2.1You acknowledge and agree that you will, at all times while these Terms apply to you, hold a valid driver's licence and all other required licences, permits, registrations, approvals and/or authorities required to provide Transportation Services within the jurisdiction in which you have been approved to provide such services by DiDi Australia. 2.2As part of the application process for becoming an approved driver (Driver), you provided relevant information to DiDi Australia to assess your suitability (including information regarding the requirements outlined above). In relation to this process, you agree and warrant that:

      (a)the information supplied by you is true, complete and not misleading in any respect and you will notify DiDi Australia as soon as practicable if any of the information is subject to change;

      (b)you consent to the collection or your personal and sensitive information in accordance with DiDi Australia's Privacy Policy;

      (c)you will provide a high resolution photo of yourself which is a true image of you and which you agree to be displayed as part of your profile;

      (d)you are entitled by law to enter into an agreement with DiDi Australia on these Terms (including, but not limited to, holding a citizenship, residency or visa status which permits you to work in Australia) and agree to be bound by them;

      (e)you will not use a vehicle other than your approved vehicle to provide Transportation Services to passengers which must at all times meet our vehicle standards as updated from time to time (Vehicle Standards); and

      (f)your vehicle will comply with any and all signage requirements imposed by DiDi Australia from time to time, including those set out in the FAQ section of DiDi Australia's website.

      • There's nothing there about their verification process, and no mention of police checks, etc.

    • The whole reason the taxi industry is regulated is because of crime that occurs when it isn't.

      Not that a business like Uber cares. This being the company that was testing their automated vehicle on public roads with the emergency braking system turned off (it was too inconvenient) and then they killed someone - who could've predicted that having no brakes would be a problem?

  • they don't do identity verification for drivers and there are hundreds of girls got sexually assaulted and murdered in China this year. DO NOT USE them for your own safety

    I don't know if it is true. BUT if it is, DO NOT USE them for your own safety

      If you don't know a claim is true, why are you saying it?

    • Not sure about hundreds, but I know there is one recently, didi refused to provide detail of driver to police, and police would not act.

      The girl's last words to her family were driver is taking her to a rural area. She was found raped , tortured and murdered.

    • I know couple of people who drive for Uber & Didi and can confirm that both have same identity verification system & driver sign up process.

    • Pretty sure that there are hundreds of girls got murdered this year because

      In 2011, the reported murder rate in China was 1.0 per 100,000 people, with 13,410 murders. The murder rate in 2010 was 1.1.

      But how is that relevant to this company?

  • Just makes me think Dexters Laboratory's DiDi…

  • Only available in melbourne?? Needs to be in title

  • When the “discount” is less than the referral bonus, you’re just giving the referral bonus to the company

    • absolutely, it doesn't make sense to sign up with this voucher when you can sign up with $20 credit via referral.
