Best High Quality Cameras

Hi all,

I am looking to buy a new camera that takes good quality photos. Which out of these would you recommend?
-Canon EOS M10
-Canon EOS M50
-Nikon 1 J5
-Fujifilm X-A2
-Sony Alpha A5100

  • Hard to justify the cost of a compact camera with the quality of cameras in phones these days

  • Compact differs from the mirror-less family you've listed.

    • Sorry I meant mirror-less not compact. But I've narrowed it down to the 5 above as I like the style and look of those cameras the most in the white colours.

  • +1

    Sony RX100 VI

  • Don't get the Nikon… the system is dead.

    • Ohhh that was the one I was leaning towards.

      • Don't be sad… Nikon's "1" system was arguably the worst in it's product class.

        • time for nikon Z

  • Out of that list I would have it between the a5100 or M50. But I don't understand why you have a new model M50 and the others are several years older, are they all in the same price bracket?

IQ wise, the Canon and the Sony are probably the best. If you are going to get multiple lenses, best to see what system offers the lenses you need.

P.S: Only the M50 offers 4K (if that interests you). I'm not sure what I would get, it would come done to lenses and lots of other things which I needed to check. I think the Sony E system has more quality lens choices then Canon EF-M, but I do like the Canon M50 Fully articulating LCD…hmmmm…I don't really want another Canon, so probably would get a Sony aXXXX

Do more research and the answer will become more obvious.

    • because he has got a weird fetish/approach on physical preference over function

  • Wouldn't micro 4/3 be better? Olympus or panasonic? Smaller lenses and a greater range.
