Luggage Recommendations

Hey all

I’m travelling in a few weeks and a need a large suitcase. Round 150L. I’d prefer something with 4 wheels rather than 2 hand also maybe a a hard case rather than fabric.

But I’ve got no idea where to start in terms of what is paying too much or too little (is $100 going to turn out to be a cheap flimsy case). Can the ozbargainers what kind of suitcase they would recommend.

Thanks

I’ve got American Tourister and Samsonite luggage happy with both.

The latest curio range by American Tourister looks good - hard shell, dual caster wheels. They’re expandable which is a big tick over the samsonite firelite bags.

  • As has been stated many times when this question has been asked, hard shell cases are generally in two halves, rather than the whole case with a lid, so packing is more difficult. Four wheel "spinners" are great on smooth marble floors in airports and railway stations, but once you get onto the asphalt or even worse, historic cobbled streets and paved footpaths, they become a noisy nightmare, with the potential for the usually flimsy wheels to break off.

    Give it some serious thought….
