Smart Themostat options for Brivis 2PW26 Gas ducted heating

Hello,

I need help here. Just got a shocker of a gas bill and am thinking a programmable smart thermostat could be the go.
Can anyone recommend me a solution that is programmable at least, better yet, app/phone connected ?
I know it's an old gas heater system, but it still works well and no point chucking it.
Any help/ thoughts appreciated. Est. pricing also would be helpful. Thanks

ps- does Nest work with my setup ?

  • Depends on many things to be cost effective. Before you spend too much time, Recommend you ensure
    1. you have good house insulation
    2. Exhaust fans have backdraft dampers
    3. There are no external windows/doors with gaps around or left open.
    4. Have window furnishings to insulate windows
    5. You have the ability to zone (effectively heat only areas you actively live in)
    6. Your heater is not undersized for the area of your house.
If you have all that covered, then look at automating your heater. Remember that the higher the temp compared to external temps, the harder your heater works to maintain it. 1 degree can make a massive difference.
Assuming you just have a simple thermostat controller (not Brivis networker)
Nest can work - Have a look at this

A good local aircon guy might help to have a look.
Also make sure your duct taping is ok. Some shoddy work could mean u are heating your roof space.

    • Thanks mate ! Gonna work through that list.
