[Sydney] All You Can Eat Venues

Alrighty I'm seeing all these all you can eat bargain popup in the deals section, but not seeing any for Sydney just yet.

I'm a lover of food, and even more of a lover of a buffet. Hoping to compile a list of buffets in the Sydney area which I can work my way through :)

Any suggestions would be just dandy!

Haha, I thought about that too a while ago. Seems all you can eat buffets not as popular here as London. I know there's the Sydney Eye restaurant and an asian one around 551 George Street that opened recently with queues around the block in evenings.

If there isn't a list of all might be worth making an OzBargain Wiki page.

Edit: I started one up if people want to contribute

Wagyu House in Croydon is epic mate ! $30 for all you can eat Korean BBQ including Wagyu Beef.

There are heaps, most chinese rest in RSLs in the West does all you can eat for less than $30; there are heaps in the city too, chinatown has a few, hotpot and bbq you name it.

There are even Japanese ones in city and Glebe, Japanese & korean bbq in the city AYCE too !

  • Do most of these all you can eat places have a time limit?

E.g some places have a 90 minute time limit and some places are all you can eat on a order by plate basis

Maybe specify those as well as it can really change the value of an all you can eat place

Star buffet experience is roughly $25pp no time limit (none that I know of). Can get very busy with some food getting cleared out as soon as it's replenished. Is regular self serve buffet. Would recommend

  • Shinara Grill on Pitt St has Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat for around $30. It's quite the experience. The Lucky Buffet at Ashfield RSL was $22 last time I went.

    • I think they offer a $13 non-BBQ lunch buffet as well. I went back in the day when it was $10 or so. I remember having to "work" to get the meaty bits but I don't even remember if was seafood or beef or chicken and I was struggling with shells, fat or bone.

Merged from Favourite All You Can Eat Restaurants?

With more deals on all you can eat restaurants, can you lovely ozbargainers post your favourite recommendations of your favourite all you can eat restaurants?

    1. Suminoya - Japanese BBQ with delicious marinated wagyu beef $50-$60. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it for a birthday or date night.

    2. Kansai in Wynyard - All you can eat sushi $28-$30. Was really good but has gone down hill, their fish to rice ratio is terrible so I won't be going there.

    3. Sheraton seafood buffet - $99? I went there for a Christmas work function and the crab was very very bland. People were flocking there like it was amazing but nothing beats fresh crab.

    4. Bankstown star buffet - $28. Decent range, food is okay. Nothing fancy or outstanding.

    5. Yakiniku Gyuzou at Chinatown $35 - the poor mans version of suminoya. Decent range but food is not as good. Still better than the average.

    6. Spicy Sichuan hot pot - $34? - not a truly all you can eat place. You can order 3 rounds and they were stingy with the beef.
      So the only

    • Suminoya

Can't second this enough. It's not cheap so not somewhere you'd go regularly, but by god their wagyu is amazing.

    • Are these all in Sydney?

      • I'm betting yes, never heard of either one of them in Melb

      • Yup. All but the Bankstown Star Buffet are in the city too I think.

    • Most all you can eat in Australia is expensive.

My favourite ones in Australia are long gone.

      All you can eat KFC.
All you can eat Pizza Hut.

My all time favourite is Jogoya in Kuala Lumpur.

      • All you can eat KFC

WHEN WAS THIS A THING? HOW DID I MISS THIS?!

I also miss AYCE Pizza Hut. That was fun.

This was in Perth in the 90's

Imagine a bain marie with :

          • Piled high Original
          • Piled high Hot N Spicy.
          • mash potato
          • Gravy
          • other sundries like peas not worth mentioning.
          • Desserts.

In my prime I was only able to eat 6 breast pieces, each time I walked out with regret.

            AAaahghasghashdhgh

In my prime I was only able to eat 6 breast pieces

            Weak!

I once shared a 15pc family bucket with a friend, just the two of us. Once. (Actually that's only like one more piece ea… hm)

I don't think I was able to look at a piece of fried chicken for months afterwards….

        • gross.. the chicken would be yuck sitting in a bain marie!

but the coleslaw i would bathe in

        • @supasaiyan:

          T
I went to one in Newcastle back in the day. It wasn't a Bain Marie for the chicken, it was a station with chicken in trays under heat lamps.

Bring able to just pick the pieces you wanted was heaven. Thigh after thigh after thigh for me.

From memory they also had corn on the cob and some other things that weren't on their regular menu.

      • Still got an all you can eat Pizza Hut on the Central Coast!

Benji from Survivor has put me off buffets. It confirmed what I always thought.

    • The best buffet I've ever had would be at the Bellagio.

      The range is incredible.

The dessert range is probably bigger than main ranges in Australia.

It was about US$39 @ 93c exchange rate 10 years ago.

The best value one was at the Sahara Casino…only US$7.

    • Crown Casino - Kitchen Workshop $29

    • B'churrasco - Melbourne, A'Beckett St

  • Club Marconi in Bossley park does a decent buffet.

    • Which is Star Buffet, previously mentioned in this thread

  • Rips and Rumps Thursday All You Can Eat $49.
Never tried but the initial requirements sounds a bit soso.

Your first serving will consist of a garlic and herb baguette, 1kg of mixed ribs and 1kg of chicken wings with chips, salad and onion rings.
What’s next is up to you. Simply choose any item from the menu selection and eat until you’re full.

  • If you are in western Sydney, there are several RSL clubs in Blacktown offer lunch and dinner buffet.Lunch is from about $15.

List some names for easy search.
    Grange Buffet
    Bungarribee Buffet

  • All you can eat buffets in my experience are not an attractive atmosphere. Troughs of food put out for a herd of gluttons. I just don’t get the allure? Quality over quantity.
