Just had a chat with my optometrist about orthokeratology? It all seems very interesting, is anyone here currently wearing ortho k lenses, what do you think and how much did u pay, seems to cost an arm and a leg!!

Ive been doing ortho k for the last 12 years or so. Still remember being sceptical at the start but the thought of 20/20 vision without the need for glasses or contacts intrigued me. Initially it cost quite abit. Consultation fees, the lens itself was $250 each. I say each cause ive actually snapped one, and also lost one down the drain. Might seem uncomfortable at the start, but your eyes sensitivity adapts to it. After the first year, was 6 month visits and the ongoing costs are for cleaning solutions and fish oils.
Going to sleep with the contacts and waking up with 20/20 vision is basically what it does. I think its worth a try.
Haven't worn it myself but have a colleague who did a lot of fits. Was there something in particular you want to know?
