Don't forget 7% cash back at Cashrewards :)

    • Why I always forgetting this…. :(

  • +7% using Cashrewards

    • I am interested to know how this works.. Could you please explain.. Never used cash rewards before. :(

      • You register on their site (using a referral from OzBargain to get extra credit for you and the referrer - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/cashrewards.com.au), then sign in and click through from their site. They get a cashback through the referral agreements with third parties, and pass on some of that back to you for you to cash out too.

        • Thanks .. Is it only online then ? I cant purchase in store and get this offer?

          • @niish150887: No, cashrewards works through online referral marketing. You may be able to get the original deal in store (I don't know), but you won't be able to get the cashrewards on top in store.

            • @ely: Hopping on the Q&A, cashrewards says I have to disable my ad blocker when shopping through their portal… Do I have to do that? Does cashrewards notify me if my online session won't be credited because of the ad blocker?

              • +1

@chuckoy: You're safest to do so; CR can't really warn you about it reliably, AFAIK they don't try at all. It might work with them, it might not.

What I do (not just for CR) is have a separate Chrome profile[1] which doesn't have any ad blocking or other extensions at all, and use that whenever I buy something with CR. I've never had something fail to track (not that I shop online that much, so maybe I'm just lucky).

  • +suncorp rewards has 9% off egift cards

    • Looks like these can only be used in store. Can't be used at Myer, or on the Sunglass Hut website (which means no stacking with Cash Rewards)

  • Whoever bought giftcards during the Amex Fashion week will definitely benefit from this even more.

Everyone says Sunglass hut is a rip off (which they are), so where is a good place to get sunnies?

    • great comment - it would be good to have any recommendations. I have bought from Catch before, obviously limited choice and usually the styles/colours nobody wanted at full price! But you may luck out. Apart from airports in the US, any other good places to try for RayBans on sale?

      • +4

Sunglass Hut is unfortunately the best if you want style/variety. Catch has a bunch of 'leftover' sunglasses, out of season/fashion, and random colours/sizes. You might find a diamond in the rough but a lot of them are just plain ordinary.

        • e.g. Oakley Holbrook Polarized OO 9102 (or equivalent)
SH: $178 (then take Cash Rewards = $12.46)
          Ozmosis $168
          Shade Station: $165
          Ottica: $205
eBay: $140 (then take 5% and CR)

          • @T-Quizzle: Yeah if you're a speed dealer then they're a bargain.

    • +1

      I've often wondered the same.

    • Yeah, somewhere where I can get a replacement pair of Maui Jims would be good; all of these deals always exclude them :(

Sunglass hut has the monopoly on sunglasses because its owned by the company that owns alot of the brands its sells. So… No, no other good place. Just go there, buy $400 sunglasses that you KNOW costs them like $4 each to make, then go home and scream into a pillow.

    • Try otticanet, have purchased from them before and from what I recall, sharp pricing and wide range of brands and styles

Edit: Sharper (usual) pricing but you may get a better deal with this 30% off…

    • Sunglasshut 3 monthly 30-40% off sales stacked with either Amex or Cashrewards usually can net you some $209 ray bans for around $100 or under.

    • Aooko on Taobao (like eBay from Alibaba giant) and DHGate iirc. He also sells through yupoo. All of his glasses are uv protected, which is the only thing you really care about. I don't know about polarised lenses but I myself have had uv testing done on these by an optom

  • offer ends today???

    • Offer ends Thursday 27th September at 11.59pm AEST, so yes?

I've been travelling these last 2 weeks in Malaysia and Philippines.
Fyi:All Luxottica glasses here are about 10-20% more expensive! Despite the income being about 80% less. Someone I work with used to be a part of Luxottica. It's market up 70-80% from factory and a great amount of that is then spent in marketing

Ordered a pair of Ray Bans. Got SMS from DHL that package was on way from "LUXOTTICA".

When putting tracking number in to DHL site its showing: "Shipment picked up
    dongguan - china, peoples republic"

    Seriously????

Sunglass Hut now selling Australians goods sent from China??

    • It’s been always like that. I purchased a pair of Persol about three years back from Sunglass Hut and it was shipped by Luxottica from China. I think they have a storage/warehouse there (because it’s cheaper than Italy I guess?).
