Don't know anything about remote control cars but DH would love one and his birthday is coming up.

Is this a good deal, or nothing special?

And for matter is this particular car any good anyway?

That wouldn't have proportional controls. So, you only have "switches" for forward and back (flat out or off). And the same with steering.. you have full left, full right or straight ahead.

Makes the car almost impossible to control.

Plus they run on AA Batteries, so they will be both slow AND cost you a fortune.

For a 3 year old as a "play with once and never again" kind of toy… yeah, maybe. But that is about it.

  The only reason I considered it is because DH has mentioned when he was a kid they were hundreds of dollars to buy and he always wanted one, but of course he'd be after a good one now, for grown up fun, not just for kids.
