The seller finally got some more stock sent to the Amazon Warehouse after the last deal sold out. Have just bought another one for the brother in-law for Christmas.

The code works for

I'd say you're fine with 32GB unless you tend to have a lot of exciting road incidents. 3 minute videos are 268MB (32GB/268MB=119 videos) and after the card is full it will just overwrite the oldest video. Make sure you select FREE Standard Delivery as it defaults to Expedited Delivery. All ship out of the Amazon Australia Warehouse.

The Cam

I'll repeat from last time:

I'm an avid dashcam video watcher. The quality of the videos on Roadcam vary quite a bit however whenever I see a good quality video I note down the dashcam. Unfortunately, YouTube compresses their videos so it's difficult to ascertain if the details are lost by the camera or in the uploaded video. This was the post that sold me on the B1W. The difficult lighting conditions were handled quite well by the B1W although without seeing the raw video hard to tell a comparison of licence plates.

Videos

However, I've taken some test videos and uploaded them uncompressed-ish (I think) so you can have a look.

Side story: I recently noticed neither of my headlights were working. When trying to diagnose the issue I remembered I took this night video. You can see that only 1 headlight is working. So it appears I've been driving with 1 headlight for a long time and finally the other one went. Fortunately, it was just a simple (and cheap) change of the globes instead of a more complex issue (e.g. broken switch, wiring fault). Another added use for a dashcam.

Using the Cam/App

You connect to the cam via Wi-Fi which has the default password of 1234567890. May be worth changing if you don't want to risk others connecting to your cam. You can also turn the wi-fi off permanently by holding down the cam's button. The app itself lets you choose a bunch of options such as stopping the voice notifications. Blinking green light means recording, solid green means on but not recording and I'm guessing different lights for wi-fi off.

So if you see something interesting on the road, you press the button on the side of the camera. By default, the camera records in 1 minute increments. I've changed mine to 3 but I'm not sure that's really useful. In the app, there is a list of videos on the cam called normal which is the loop of videos and Emergency Video which are the videos it takes when you press the button.

The camera comes with a mounting kit. Basically a bunch of 3M double sided stickers with plastic things you can loop the wire in. So you stick them out of sight at the edge of your windshield.

Highlights

  • 1080p resolution at 30fps with a bit rate of 12Mbps.
  • Sony IMX323 sensor.
  • Novatek GM8135S processor
  • No screen or GPS (settings adjusted with app).
  • Uses capacitors instead of Lithium Ion batteries making it better for hot climates (hello Australian summer). Works up to 70c.
  • Need to settle a road argument? Connect to the wi-fi and you can play the videos in seconds on your phone.
  • Parking Mode (Triggered by G-sensor. When an impact is detected by the G-sensor, the camera starts video recording 30 seconds automatically. The hardwire kit needed for Parking Mode is not included in standard package, buyer needs to buy it separately. $26.99 at the same store)

If you are looking for an affordable, discreet, Wifi enabled camera with good video quality, the Blueskysea B1W is a great choice. Since the camera does not have a screen you will need a smartphone to setup the camera using the available app.Overall one of the best bang for your buck cameras for 2018. Better video quality than the previous budget camera, the A118C. Only unknown is long term reliability. - Dashcam Talk -

Another YouTube Review

I believe the Blueskysea B1W is the compromise between the cheap webcams (e.g. Xiaomi 70min/mai $40-$55and the more expensive quality ones (Viofo A119 Pro ~$133)). Ranked #1 in cheap dashcams on Dashcamtalk (Discussion Thread)

2 Set Blueskysea B1W 1080P WiFi App IMX323 Dash Camera Capacitor Car DVR Vehicle-$138.69

    • Or you could use one for front and the other for rear ;) got one and plan to get another if its good.

  • Is it possible to get these sort of things hardwired so I never see any cables? This is the main reason I have never installed a dashcam. Would want one facing towards the rear as well.

    • No reason you couldn't wire it up to your accessories line. But it would be a bit of work.

There's also a wiring kit for sale on Amazon, just scroll down.

    • The best way is to use a fuse tap and connecting it to a cigarette lighter plug. I bought those and just have an extra cigarette lighter plug hidden in with my fuse box now and it's just like having it hardwired but it gives you the option to remove it without having to splice into anything.

      • Thanks AdamFury,

So just to confirm, you purchase both the fuse tap and cigarette lighter plug, and just plug it into a spare fuse slot?

        Sounds very smart.

But where would you place the wire? Under the dash?

        • Would like to know this too, AdamFury.

        • +1

Yep. Purchase both the fuse tap and the cigarette lighter plug and connect them together and connect it into a spare fuse slot that has power only when the accessories come on (you can use any fuse however run the risk of running your battery dead if it has constant power when the car is off).

I run the wire from the dash cam up into the roof lining and down the drivers side a pillar and my fuse box is on the drivers side so I tuck it into there and see no wires at all.

The advantage of using a cigarette lighter plug is you use the original charger that the dash cam comes with and it does all the voltage regulation for you.

  • Can anyone confirm the quality/brand of the 64gb SD card?

  • He seems to have several bad reviews saying that the items are fake. Is this really safe? Can they be returned without costs?

    • +1

You sure you are looking at the right store? 100% feedback.

Cameras are not fake (what's the point as it's a fairly unknown brand) but as Amazon is fulfilling the transaction then you would deal with them. Shouldn't have an issue with return.

    • Amazon is taking you to a different seller because he sold out.

  • Can anyone tell me if it is micro USB or USB 2.0 port that it requires? I want to use my car's USB port instead of the lighter port to charge this thing.. hoping it will provide enough power?

    • Micro USB.

  • All gone at AUBaiklov. Amazon appears to divert you to another seller (AUEyoyo) with the same product, but the discount won't work there.

  • Add me to PM list thx

  • I"d like to be added to the pm list too :)

    thanks

  • pm thks

  • Bought WAZA B03 from another deal, which couldn't fit nicely any of the two cars. Now collecting dust in a drawer.

  • Just bought now. Code works but only $20 discount

    • Thanks! Got one.

    • Just be aware, the camera without the memory cards is back in stock (3 or 4 left) but the 32Gb & 64GB Combos are being sent out via China instead of Australia.

  • Missed it again!

    As @ 28/09 1330 AEST

        • Not sure what you mean. Maybe take a screenshot?

Hi Neil , i meant it looked like you were parked [as those 2 other cars ]in the grafitti area ,night shot at about 20secs on timeline, does the road have a bend or is the lens showing a fisheye type distortion , ?

  • Code expired. It's now cheaper on AliExpress, $80 -> $72

  • PM plez

  • Looks like they have new stock, is there a new code to get the same previous deal? Thanks

    • +1

There appears to be 3 in stock (maybe from cancellations of orders) but no code for now. The 32 and 64 are in stock but they are being sent from their Chinese Warehouse.

  • Got mine with 64gb microsd card delivered today. The card is Sandisk ultra though which I thought would be an endurance no brand card. Still good value for $18 more than just the camera only and hope it lasts more than a year. Thanks OP.

  • pm me please neil for next discount. Thanks
