Sportscraft have an upgrade on their promo from a few months ago that was posted on here where if you joined the VIP club you'd get a free $20 voucher to spend on full priced merchandise, well this time it's $30.
You need to join by the 5th of April though I'd recommend sooner, and the voucher needs to be used by the 17th.

I doubt you'd be eligible if you used the last promotion, but we all know there are workarounds to these things. Most of us have brothers or sisters, sons or daughters, fathers or mothers whos details we could use to get one of you got one last time.

EDIT: voucher needs to be used on items $30 or more, so can't get a $29.95 item for free. I'd go for a $34.95 t-shirt in store if I were you. :)

Enjoy!

  • Is that the same as the birtday gift card for $20 I got in the mail not long ago? Just a $30 card instead of a $20 one? Reminds me.. I have to spend it before the 13th. Cheers

    • scratch that.. the birthday gift card is a seperate thing..

I got the last $20 VIP went into the store they didn't know how to process it had to go back to the store wasn't allowed to buy anything under $20 the cheapest thing was plain white tshirt for $29.95 which I brought which I could have brought for less than $10 anywhere.
The prices of sport craft and most other brand names is a total rip off !!!

    • wasn’t allowed to buy anything under $20 the cheapest thing was plain white tshirt for $29.95

Yeah, that's the catch. It would be the same for the $30 voucher as stated in their terms and conditions.

In WA, they only seem to be selling them in Myers. I wonder if their vouchers are valid on the Myer registers.

      • Yes it does. David Jones and Myer including if you bring valid voucher as per T&C.

jrt2020 has a valid point but Sportscraft's marketing department wasn't born yesterday. It costs a fair amount of money to attract new customers through marketing campaigns. This one is achieving marketing goals at extremely low costs per customer even though it may be a different market to the one their were initially aiming at. If this one wasn't benefiting the company in the long term, rest assured they will cease the promotion quick smart.

I am from overseas and a comparitively poorer country than Australia but still I know how to treat someone fairly. And also I know how good the Australians are in being fair and how ethical they are.And if someone still misuse this ,am sure they will not be Australians

          this..does not define Australians

        • +8

To issh's comment, '+' with that.

To jrt2020, please update your knowledge on Australia. It has changed a lot.

What law has been broken? Please don't overdramatize things.

    • +5

if they worry about people misusing these vouchers, they should have taken action to prevent it. They have not. Besides the point of these vouchers is a loss leader to get people into the stores, they wouldn't give a damn if Health magazine got their sale or not. Frankly, they would have paid Health Magazine for the advertising space, getting extra exposure here is probably an un-expected gain due to the expanding reader base.

So Health Magazine got the advertising revenue and some additional sale due to the voucher. Sportscraft got both the readers of Health and Ozbargain into their doors. What else could you ask for?

      • +3

Exactly. If it was an issue, they would have put an individual code on each good health magazine rather than just a general link. When a bunch of ozbargain people are buying $39.95RRP shirts that cost $2.50 to make and import for $9.95, they're still making money.

      • I doubt this is a loss leader….have you seen their prices!! They could knock 30 bucks off storewide and they'd still be expensive.

    • -8

i agree to be honest, pity you're being downvoted

    • +1

      you're kidding right? hahaha

    • +1

I doubt theyre losing a lot of money from reduced sales, they'll only lose a little bit of profit which wont bring their business down. Pretty sure they have financial advisors and have all this figured out. Consider their price for a plain white tank, a ridiculous $30 (http://www.sportscraft.com.au/tanks-camis/sportscraft-camiso…) most likey made in China, where the other $5 tanks are made too.

    • +4

      1) You're incredibly naive if you think they're not still pulling a profit, discount or no.

      2) This is Ozbargain

      3) While I'm flattered you think all Aussies must be generous and honourable, it's sadly not the case.

    • Dude, you have 32 minuses ("-"), i dont think these ozbargainers are listening to you ^^

man I always look forward to your comments
I even have a bookmark linked to your comments page

  • This offer seems to have similar dimensions to the Borders pre-Christmas $20-off VIP offer including:

    a) A deficient promotion open to "abuse";

    b) Normal stock is astronomically/uneconomically priced compared to similar merchandise elsewhere; and

    c) almost no items are available for the value of the card/coupon, but if you can use it to buy something of the same value as the card/coupon you've got it for FREE.

    • +3

And the same thing with rebel sports $20 back in I think September. These companies organise these things well, they're not going to lose money, they suck people into their shops.
And if they HAVEN'T organised it well and do end up losing money? Well that's their fault for having a terrible marketing department. As I said earlier, a simple unique code on each magazine would have done the trick.

      • +2

Rebel has uber high mark-ups, and the people who shop there are usually highrollers that don't go on ozbargain haha

    • +1

But border/ rebel is better you can use on sale items this voucher can't.

  • +3

When stores "overprice" stock we can pass by; on the rare occasions they "underprice" should we also pass by?

    • +4

I would certainly go in and check it out.

    • Having just cursorily glanced through their wares in Myer, Melbourne I didn't see anything close to $30.

  • +3

    nice one ashlea!
"*Not valid on sale items", what the heck?? that rules out a large chunk of stock…

    • +2

Yeah, they regularly do that. Jerks. Last time they had a promotion like this, I purchased one of the items that was 5c below the total and bought one of their enviro bags for $2. $30 may be better than $20 as I've seen some stuff priced at $34.95.

      • +1

Can confirm there are some womens tees for $34.95 in stores as well as on the web. A $5 t-shirt isn't bad at all.

        • Thanks.

  • +2

It works for already VIPs, I just got my $30 voucher then. Cheers Ashlea!

    • good one!

  • Good voucher Ashlea but I couldn't find anything worth buying on the website…

  • +1

    Great offer Ashlea!!!

  • Need to spend 30 or more & can't use the voucher on sale items :(
    Their products so over-price!!!

  • BTW voucher expire on 17/04/2011 so have around 6 weeks to use.

  • $30 off overpriced stock was not too bad.

  • I got a mohair scarf from there last time and it rocks!!!

  • cant use on sale items? that sucks..

about the only good mens clothes are the shirts, but at an RRP they are a joke.

    • I can see a x% off everything under $y sale during this period ;)

  • Who buy Sportscraft at full price anyway?

    • +1

rich w***ers who keep the David Jones brand running

      • +2

and whats wrong with being a widower?

  • +2

I've + the deal but I have to agree with some people… Sportscraft pretty much always has a sale on which can be quite substantial at times. The fact that you can only use this voucher on non-sale items (which to me the prices are highly overinflated) means that you're best of buying something cheap to get the biggest comparative discount.

I've bought many things from Sportscraft on sale which were 70% off the RRP. I think that they probably have a high RRP and then discount a lot as a marketing gimmick. Therefore to address some comments about ripping off the company, I'm pretty sure they are making a profit during their sales and even with this voucher. From what I've seen most of their stuff is made in China and they are selling it at a premium. Nonetheless I still like their stuff which is worth it at a sale price.

I just went and bought a $60 scarf for $30, which probably makes it decently priced but not a huge bargain, but I couldn't justify buying a $40 t-shirt and still having to pay $10 for a plain t when I could buy off threadless which has cool unique designs for around the same price! :)

  • Hi Ashlea, Which shop Did you go to buy the T-shirt & Enviro bag, I went to Sydney CBD myar, David Jones, Mid city centre shop, could n't find any any T shirt which is $34.95 Also didn't see the Enviro bag.
Found few stocking which is $29.95, But still I have to buy something to make it $30. nothing is less than $19.95, Looking for your advice, thanks

    • This was aaages ago, so not sure where you'd get it now. Their website shows some t-shirts for $34.95, did they not have any of those in stock??

      • It could be they increase their product price, I can't use my Voucher.

  • hooray for Ashlea!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!!!!!

  • +4

    So heres the deal

    1. go on-line

    2. add stockings to your cart

    3. go to checkout

    • +1

      WOOT FREE STOCKINGS

    • where can I find gift wrapping, when I search , nothing found.
Is there any delivery charge when we buy online?

      • I just order stockings +$10 postage
Which make $29.95 & i could submit my order via onlile
Do you think, I will receive my stockings

        • possibly

I suspect one of two things .. the code was not applied properly

or it has "built in" leeway

I guess we will see :)

  • Great combo Ash+Natt.

Unfortunately we can't remember which family member goes with which Voucher, and the other details, so we might get into trouble when ordering online. We all want stockings. Hope we can go down to the stores and get'em in the morning.

    Cheers.

    • +1

you might get unstuck there, as I suspect its the shipping of $10 that gets it to the needed threshold

I did notice the camisole tops and the bracelet at $29.95 - so + the bag ashlea was talking about would take it over

plan to get hubbie to check in store

      • Thanks Natt.

  • nice job finding the free stockings but is there anything men can get delivered for free?

    • +1

      You could wear stockings.

      • +1

…just don't put them over your head (you will get free stuff but also possibly be taken into custody) ;-)

  • Went instore yesterday, paid only $5.95 for a scarf worth $39.95 (was expecting $9.95). Apparently the salesperson gave me a "VIP Discount of 10%" which = $4. Not sure if it's a special promo thing they're currently having?
    Under $6 for a Sportcraft scarf… bargain! :)

    • Lucky you it's supposedly "not valid… in conjunction with any other discount".

  • If I have an existing card do I need to print out the voucher or will it be on the card?

  • Mine was shipped today via AaE :)

    • same apparently :>

    • Waiting for mine, Love you Ashlea, You area star :))

      • Mine was shipped yesterday via AAE, Can't order any more as it says, out of stock via online :(

        • Can see the product(on stock) online, But now it doesn't take the voucher code, Try few code, none works

  • +1

$30 for a really expensive store is like $5 for Target.

  • -1

stockings came today via air express :)

    MOAR freebies - woot!

  • +1

Went and bought Men Polo - Tabso colour from Myers for $9.00 from $59.95.($59.95 to $39.00 due to sales) then used $30.00 voucher for further discount.
