Where should I go on holiday for some sun in December/January

Me and the wife want to go on a holiday for 2 weeks over the new year and want to go somewhere where it's going to be hot.
We originally thought Port Douglas or Bali, but it is the rainy season.
What other countries have good weather around that time of year?

    Singapore
    24/7 furnace

  • For that time of the year, have a look at tropical Asia a little north of the equator (southern to mid-Vietnam, Phuket, Philippines, etc). The weather will be pretty good, limited rain.

    Not sure about bargains though.

I like experiencing the culture and cuisine of other countries.

Melbourne then, it's gonna be hot. And they have Little Vietnam, Little Italy, etc., all within Metropolitan vicinity.

Broadmeadows. It is within greater Melbourne but you'll feel like you've left Australia for a third world country.

Unless you and your wife suffer from some kind of pituitary condition, this has got to be a pisstake.

  • should be hot all over australia in december, but if want to go overseas will be warm in the Caribbean or places like cancun

    • Only a complete moron would go to Cancun right now. Have you read the news in the last 6 months?

Anywhere below the Tropic of Cancer.

  • Save your money and wait a few months.

  • What's wrong with anywhere in Queensland?

      Too many Queenslanders.

      • Banana benders a

  • what about Samoa? Friend went there and loved it

  • Early December, before school holidays, is a great time to visit northern NSW and southern QLD … water is warm, temp around 25-30C, accom not yet at peak, and not too crowded. If you want a bit more exotic, Phuket is dry and around 30C, good accom prices, but will be very busy … lots of Europeans, Russians and Chinese escaping their winter.

  • Thai islands a little off the beaten track, such as Koh Ngai, Kradan or Mook in the south, Koh Jum near Lanta, Koh Phayam on the Andaman side, Koh Kood next to Koh Chang. All are quieter than Phuket, Phi Phi, Samui etc. The weather is pretty perfect….hot and sunny with lower humidity than Qld. at that time of year.

  • Go to Sabah, Borneo….
    Land Below the Wind :-)
