Magimix Cook Expert -Best Bargain (Willing to Wait)

Wondering if anyone has any ideas about the best bargains that I am likely to get on a Magimix cook expert.

They retail at $2099, and the lowest I have seen is $1899. I have heard though that at particular times of the year (eg Christmas) there may be deals/bundles available. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the best time and place to pick up a bargain, and the best bargains that might be available for this item.

  • They are doing the promo of the steaming basket and chopping kit before and after christmas. There always sales then as well so if you can wait look around november december and maybe january

    • Thanks - looks like I just missed a bundle promotion that ended in September so will keep an eye out for the next one

  • Isn't this thing just a food processor and multi-cooker type thing in one?
    Or am I missing something?

    • Yes that's it - similar to a thermomix

  • Is this like a thermomix?

    • +1

Yes, similar to a Thermomix (some different specs etc but similar concept)

  • I was looking at one of these for quite a while. Best I've seen this year is the $1899 at Peters of Kensington, and on top of that a 20% ebay sale. So about $1520. I almost pulled the trigger then but ended up getting the Tefal one instead.

    • That sounds like an awesome deal - thanks for the tip. Can I ask what made you go with the Tefal?

      • No worries. For me I ultimately decided that I wasn't sure if I'd get much use out of one (buyers remorse seems a bit common with these Thermomix-type things). The Tefal deal on Amazon was cheap enough that I was willing to take the risk.

If it was something I knew I'd use a few times a week, then the Magimix would have been the way to go. Atm I use the Tefal about once a week, so despite having less features it's good enough for me.

  • Myer had these for $1680 over the weekend but back to normal price now.
