Help Me Choose a Coffee Machine! Breville Dual Boiler Dynamic Duo or Sunbeam Torino

Hi Ozbargainers,

I am considering trading my Qantas points in to purchase a coffee machine that is currently on sale in the Qantas store.
There are two machines that I would consider purchasing

The Breville Dual Boiler

or

The Sunbeam Torino

Just wondering if anyone can provide me with any guidance as to which machine would be better.

I'm currently leaning towards the Torino but know that the Dual Boiler gets regular praise on OzBargain.

I suggest that you ask the question at coffeesnobs.com.au and get plenty of educated replies.

Not saying that the folks here are not educated, but Coffee Snobs is focused on coffee machines.

    • Thanks ChrisLevo. Will check it out.

I know it isn’t the answer you want but this is a terrible use of Points….

I have the sunbeam cafe series which might not be made anymore.

I think the beville is meant to be better but both brands are fine.

  • Thanks knick007. What are the best uses of the points?
I've had them for so long not really sure on the best uses.

    • Buy an economy flight, upgrade to business class.

Buy a round the world ticket for 140,000 points

Use them for flights or upgrades.

How many points do you have?

Personally, I'd blow the amount you were going to buy the coffee machine with on a business class flight to San Fran.

About 192,000 Points + $600 or so in taxes. Have a look at https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/whereCouldIGo

There are a heap of threads on here about this. Do some googling about best use of points and how to get the best value.

  • Rocket Apartmento!

  • How much do you love your coffee? The Breville Dual Boiler is brilliant, but it's been superseded by the Oracle, and that's been superseded by the Oracle Touch. They're all pretty awesome though.

    • (I know this is old but comes up high in search results so for anyone reading these posts)

The Dual Boiler hasn't been superseded even now in 2020, they are all very different machines. The Oracle series is for people that want more automatic features (at significantly higher cost). This doesn't mean it produces better results either.
