Google Pixel 3 - How Long Should One Wait?

Alright, so Googe Pixel Launch I believe is on the 9 October.

Couple questions if anyone remembers based on the Pixel 2 launch..

  • how long before we received AU stock, from the launch event last year?

  • once it launches and is available for sale in AU, how (typically, and based on last year maybe?) long do you think is reasonable to wait before going out and purchasing outright? I can't imagine much of a sale would be had within the first 1-2 months of launch..

  • lastly, how long did it take for the Telstra $59pm deal to come out for the Pixel 2XL post launch? If there's a chance even something similar would come out, I'd likely take it.

I've been waiting 3 months for a new phone, and decided to wait out for the launch.

    From memory, there were a couple of deals around Nov/Dec. There were a couple of decent deals from JB Hifi as well then.

    Based on Telstras current billing model and screwing customers, it'll be about 12 months after the launch until you see a Pixel 3 for that price ;)

    What are people's thoughts on the 'leaks' so far?

    Not sure how I feel about a knotch on the XL.. it'd almost tempt me to purchase a 2XL. But.. the potential wireless charging is also attractive.

    Price for Pixel doesn't move for months after launch, best advice would be to look for launch offers including bonus items.

    I would wait 12 months and see what the next Pixel is like. This one is ugly as sin.

    In the same boat as the OP - Waiting for the pixel 3 to launch to hopefully get it on a $59 per month telstra plan. I think the deals came out around december/jan for the Pixel 2
