No it isn't. I'd check the phone if I were you. I live in Melbourne and drive all over Victoria, no probs.

      • No problem whatsoever on Telstras network. Using a Xiaomi Mi5 & Mi8..

Went for a drive up to Daylesford last weekend and no signal whatsoever.

        • +8

Coincidentally I went to Daylesford and both me and the wife had perfect reception.

        • +6

Same… I use Lebara and I'm all over Melbourne daily. No issues.

        • +1

no, if you live in Melbourne, it should be alright. i change network every month and travel on Gippsland line daily and i find that every network they have black spots where intetnet doesnt work at all but phone calls and messages are fine

      • Oh OK, blackspots are no longer a thing apparently.

    International Roaming:
Lebara can only be used within Australia. International roaming services are not available.

    Deal Breaker for me…

  • Can you use WiFi calling with Lebara? Currently on Vodafone but in the house the reception is pretty bad so having the WiFi calling option is essential.

    • +1

At present, VoLTE is not available on Lebara.

    • Skype maybe?

  • Great deal
Need to activate within 60 days of purchase I belueve. I got one of their offer for 98 for 6 moonths.
    No issues at all

  • Does anyone know when Vodafone will allow HD calling/voLTE through resellers?

    • Now there's an interesting question. On the coverge map for Lebara it says for my area that VoLTE is available, but at the bottom of the page it says it isn't. I'm not on Lebara yet so I can't test (I'm currently on Kogan). My wife is on Lebara but her phone is not VoLTE enabled so can't check there either. It's a mystery!

      • Kogan is a reseller as well, which doesn’t have voLTE.

        • Zachary.

  • If only the overseas calls included mobiles, I'd be all over this deal…

    • +1

      But they do?

Standard fixed and mobile calls to India, Peru, Japan, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Hong Kong,
Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, UK, USA.
$5 international call credit to be
used for standard International Calls, SMS and MMS

      • You're right, I thought standard calls meant landlines only. I wonder if they had a plan with big data (30gb or so)?

        • They do, but don't think they are on discount at the moment

        • Question now is if they include international special numbers like how some australian plans don't include 1300 or is it 1800 numbers sometimes and only landlines and mobiles no special numbers.

This is pretty good though but I wonder if there is any slightly cheaper.

Lebara is a joke. What provider in 2018 doesn't support MMS. Whenever you receive a MMS you need to go to the provided URL to view it like back in the old Nokia days. Customer service is also pretty crap, well he person I spoke to at least was. Very arrogant.

    • Now this is bad news. I was considering this deal, but no direct mms? Not good.

      • "The Medium Plan 360 Day SIM Pack now comes with Unlimited Standard Calls to 15 Selected Countries, Unlimited Talk, Text & MMS in Australia".

        & MMS.

      • +3

Definitely has direct MMS, I'm guessing their phone is missing the MMS proxy settings

        https://imgur.com/a/T6CfLhL

    • Shame that they don't support MMS. However, with IMs all over the place nowadays, can't believe MMS is still alive…(haven't used it for ages..)

    • +1

      Who in 2018 use MMS?

      • Some people still do and when they send you MMS it's annoying.

    • +2

Lebara definitely supports MMS, not sure what you're talking about. Here's one I got this week

      https://imgur.com/a/T6CfLhL

      • Great, thanks. I was going to order this until I saw the MMS comments above. Now I can go back to order.

  • Sim has to be activated within 90 days of this purchase.

    • 60 days.

  • Questions: I got the national 6 plan with 5 gigs per month which ends June next year, if I buy this what will my remaining months also have 7 gigs per month(unlikely I know) or will cancel my remaining months and start this instead?

    • Neither. It stacks.

  • Quick question. If I have a Telstra sim at the moment (out of contract just paying monthly) and would like to keep the number can I have the number ported over? Sorry been a long time since I have done anything like this.

    • +1

      Yep.

      • Sweet thanks. Assuming it is done during the set up process.

  • Hi Wardaddy

I bought this deal in September, and Im completely happy with it.

I want my partner to get it as well. However, his usage goes over 7GB per month from time to time.

Can you let me know what will happen if a user uses up 7GB in one month? Does it involve more pay, or no internet connection?

    • +1

If 7GB is reached before 30 days has elapsed, access to data will cease unless the customer has main
balance (charged at $0.02/MB) or until the customer recharges or purchases a data pack.

  • is this on vodaphone network?
    does it come with 4g?
How does it compare with vaya?

  • Can I buy 2 of these and stack them for 720 days access?

    • +1

Yes I believe they can be stacked up to 24 months, better call them and double check though.

    • +1

      Yes.

  • Can I port my number to another provider once the 360 days are over?

    • Hi cheapaschips,

You sure can port out if you wish to do so.

      Regards,
      Team Lebara

      • +1

Bought it few months back and now you are offering the same plan with more data at cheaper price :| . Atleast offer older customers the increased data usage.

    • +2

No mate, you have to stay with Lebara for the rest of your life.

  • Potentially odd question.

Can you stack 2 different plans. EG 180 day small + 360 day Medium?

    Edit:
    Might have found the answer

Can I buy more than one of these SIM's?
You can stack up to 24 months of Lebara recharges. We recommend you buy this SIM pack plus up to three 180 day vouchers. Remember if you are on an existing Medium or Large plan, you can stack further but only up to 24 months maximum.

  • When is this offer coming back?

    • June 17th, 2021.

      • I want it now. :) Will buy again in June 2021 though.

        • Well if you're a new user go here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/410018

          • @Wardaddy: Thanks. I am looking for 360 days deal to avoid the hassle again after 180 days. Also, 360 days deal was a bit cheaper too, $178 (this particular deal post) was the lowest if I remember correctly.

            • @virhlpool: You need a new calculator, the price is exactly the same per month. I'm going to get the 180 day welcome deal then stack a 360 day deal on it when it next comes along.

              • @Wardaddy: Aah.. I was comparing 7GB vs 16GB. You're right. Price per month is the same - 6 months or 1 year.

Secondly, if you are already a Lebara customer (with 180 day plan), will the discounted 360 deal (let's say $178/360 days) be available to you? I thought it's only for the new customers.

                • @virhlpool: You can stack it on to an existing plan.

                  • @Wardaddy: Ok.. then why can't you buy 3*180 days plans and stack them up rather than waiting for another 360 days plan deal? However, it seems that 180 days deal at $89 is only for the new customer so can we stack it if we are already an existing customer? Probably not?
