Cheapest 4K TV with a 10 Bit Panel?

Hi, I'm looking to get a good 4ktv with decent HDR (which I hear is basically 10bit panel or higher) for a preferably cheap price

Hisense p7 series seems really decent value, but I was hoping for something slightly cheaper. Preferably 50-55" screen as well.

I was considering the Aldi deal coming this Saturday (advertised as having HDR), but considering its price point of $579 I highly doubt it's a 10bit panel.

Are there any deals going around or should I be looking at a different brand?

Any info is appreciated :)

  • ohh dang, you've just missed this one

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/408085

    • I had a look at that and apparently the HDR on it doesn't apply to gaming which was gonna be one of the main purposes so I'm not too upset

      • If gaming is the main purpose, you might be better off with a monitor for less input lag. Depends on whether you have a desk or not I guess.

        • It's going to act as a main tv used for gaming and movies as well as Netflix.

  • I bought my Hisense 50P7 from goodguys 2 weeks ago for $995 but it looks like its gone back up to $1095. It be worth bargaining with them but I dont think you're going to find a 10bit panel cheaper than that

    • What do you know about a store called "Buy Smarte"? If anything.

Apparently based out of Punchbowl from what I can find, but they're currently listing the TV at $960

      • Never heard of them to be honest but they seem to be legit

      • Yeah i am also thinking of buying the 50P7 from buy smarte, only extra $49 shipping to Perth too.

I wonder how it will be dealing with them for warranty issues does it still come with 3 years.

Might use the zip pay thing too pay it off over few months

      • Double post

  • I got a tcl recently and it has very low input lag. They usually let you test in store if you are serious about buying but I've noticed that oled and qled are so far ahead of traditional lcd that you shouldn't pay too much for something thats not oled or qled.

  • Any luck with this one?

I’m actually wondering how one tells if it’s a 10 bit or 8 bit panel when looking at the HDR specs.

On the lookout for a 65 inch HDR, ideally with a 10 bit panel as by all accounts it makes a big difference

    • Wide colour gamut and 1000nits brightness are good indicators of quality HDR. I ended up getting the 50P7 from JB for $798 and I am pretty happy with it. Could've gone a bit bigger but can't complain

      • Wow, that’s a good price.
Probably after a 65 inch, so price will go through the roof I guess.
Thanks for the tips on brightness and colour

        • Black Friday sales from 23 Nov. 65 inch P7 was $1295 at Harvey Norman so hopefully cheaper coming up next week

  • Saw a hisense JB hifi has a 50" for $798, HDR, save $300 think it ends today.
