Yesterday's Spreets deal - $79 service ($669 value)

HI guys,

I got my coupon last night and rang to book in this morning and was told the earliest was next Wednesday.

I agreed to that and gave all my details.

The guy on the phone then went ahead to tell me that was plus parts and OIL … wtf?

I have just reread the email and the web page and I can see no mention of this.

It sounds like a scam but I wonder if someone with a keen eye can see something I have missed:

If you have a moment please have a look and see if it is just me!

  • Meh ——

    My bad:

Additional charges apply for parts and oils

Still a bit sneaky though I reckon for $669 value you would think oil was included!!

    :)

  • I saw the same deal, and then saw oil and parts.. yeah oil should be included along with some spark plugs. But it's still a good deal.

It's an opportunity for them to 'fix' other things on your car.. interested to see what you experience is.

  • SO in addition to the $79 you also have to pay $9.35 per litre of oil and $12.00 for an oil filter.

The average family car takes 5 litres adding a further $58.75 to the total cost of a service.

I agree with the "fix" statement but my car was independently roadworthied 3 weeks ago and has done a little over 1000klms since. I put tyres etc on then.

I look forward to the upsell ;)

  • I got a similar deal from Zizzle and had the same deal, paying for parts/oil/etc. Whilst it's not truly $79 for $669 for your deal, it's still a pretty decent savings off the regular price of a service. While mine was getting done, they fixed a couple of other things (broken lights, machined the front brakes), and had a look at other problems with no extra charge for labor just the parts.

  • That's misleading and we should have zero tolerance.

    • What is misleading? - he misread the terms and conditions…
