Thanks to the amazing 12.5% cashback offer from CR and Shopback, this brings RDR2 to about $60.375 for a preorder. Amazing value and I reckon this would be the cheapest any brick and mortar store would offer. At least you get the convenience of shipping on release day to save petrol.

          True, I missed that. I assumed expedited shipping for pre orders was simply their normal 2 day shipping. That's more promising, but I still wouldn't rely on it :)

        That's how tracking works.. Every time it reaches a depot there's an update.

        I take your point, but there's a reason for it. It's en route between states then they deliver it same day when it gets to your state (assuming youre near the capital)

          Actually all my packages have been dispatched one day after they reached Perth. Even if they arrive at my local post office which is like 3km away they still wait a day for them to dispatch.

          Well I never played the first game and I'm a PC gamer but if this game really does live up to the hype then I might buy a console just for it. Something like the One S is pretty cheap when buying used and would be perfect for exclusives and games with terrible PC ports while still playing most of your games on PC.

            @Ostrk: One S will be 900p. One X will be closer to native 4k. Pro is a custom resolution of 1920x2160p according to digital foundry analysis of the ps4 pro gameplay released so far. Depends on TV you own. PS4 has some killer exclusive games that many PC gamers would enjoy. I'd get a pro to play it but up to you.

        I know and it sorta has me on the fence. Ive never preordered. Can't think of a game Ive bought on release (probably a digital download).

        but its such a poor idea and is exactly why they crank out fifa, nba, cod, AC every year with no benefits.

          Stand by your convictions friend. I very rarely pre-order, and when I do it's typically because I do want the publisher to know that I'm particularly invested in that product. I'm happy to wait for RDR 2 to prove itself to me, even if it looks good now.

          The fact that you compare a Rockstar game probably 4+ years in the making to FIFA which is an annual release game…is disturbing. Judge by the previews and trailers. I've watched a few and can say this will be at least a 9/10 for sure. It looks way better than GTA V.

    I decided to send Amazon.com.au an email in regards to the Spiderman pre order special edition bonus content I never received. This is the body of the email I received in response. Note the use of the words "beta code", I believe he means "bonus content code"?:

    Absolutely useless. Do you want to be emailing rockstar and asking for your warhorse and revolver and expecting a timely and helpful response on release day? I doubt it. You' pre-ordered for what exactly from Amazon? They've really stuffed this stuff up when it comes to distributing codes for bonus content. I'm very hesitant to preorder anything from them ever again.

    I've screen shot the bonus content image and will be coming after Amazon on horseback with loaded revolvers if I have to. But then again, never had JB hi-fi let me down with this stuff so I guess I'll go with them …

    Sometimes it's best not to get it on release date, after a week or 2 they usually have several patches released to fix bugs with the game.
    I hate playing buggy games but this is RDR 2 so i'm not sure if I can wait.
