HP MINI 310 Netbook 11.6" 2GB Nvidia 210 110 $369 w/ FREE Postage

OVERVIEW:

NVIDIA ION LE|HDMI| Bluetooth| 2GB DDR3|Web Camera

Windows 7 Premium- Full version

Hey all, long time since I've posted XD (just started uni). Anyways, I thought this was a pretty cheap netbook considering you get an okay graphics card at this price point. Now before you all go "but its an atom n270", newer atom chips arent much of an improvement and the graphics more than make up for it.

review of gaming capabilites:

"Along with improved gaming power comes the ability to output 1080p HD video. We hooked up the Mini 311 to our Samsung HD television and played the HD trailer for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. We noticed some motion blur but otherwise smooth playback with crisp images."

  • Good write up, I think my concern was the playback of 1080p as well.

    It can be hackintoshed !

  • Battery life?

    • heres a review:

      http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptop/hp-mini-311.aspx

      battery life:

"Despite having a discrete graphics card, the six-cell lithium ion battery in the 311 lasted a very respectable 5 hours and 43 minutes on our LAPTOP Battery Test (Web surfing via Wi-Fi); while that’s about half an hour short of the six-cell netbook average, it’s a worthy trade-off, given the performance boost."

it seems like a netbook to me..
am currently in the market to buy one notebook.. but with less budget.

Do you reckon this will be better than hp mini
    http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?sort=2a…

    it has hdmi too

    • +1

uh no, i reckon its one off the worst choices….
      reason:
      -celeron
      -no graphics (gma 4500)
      -no free shipping
      -and…… its a compq

      I thinks thats all.

      • have you used an celeron? i have the same computer and it allows me to multi task all my uni work . internet, itunes, word docs all at the same time.

good buy if you dont need it for gaming

  • +1

    hmmm……no wireless N

    • i noe, kinda sad. the retailers picked the cheapest config so yea…
IF u want u can buy from hp and upgrade?

"Options that HP does offer are a slightly faster 1.66-GHz Intel Atom N280 processor ($25), wireless N ($25), and Bluetooth ($25). Customers can also purchase integrated mobile broadband for $125. An external 8X DVD drive can be had for $50, and an external Blu-ray drive can be purchased for $130."

Keep in mind this is an obsolete model with first gen, circa June 2008 CPUs. HP won't be selling you this notebook.

  • is this the same from the same supplier but with wireless N? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HP-MINI-310-NETBOOK-11-6-LAPTOP-2GB-n…

One of the worst retailers I have read about. I would suggest everyone have a long read through this link before you consider parting with your hard earned cash. The deal looks good but there’s far too much negative feedback to convince me they run a legitimate operation.

  • I couldnt see its weight in the item description?

  • +3

indeed, too many negative comments for a retailer

    See:

      negging due to seller feedback
      From whirlpool:
"UPDATE: For those of you who don't have access to the bayside diner forums (as you might need to create a free account to view it),

Ive just been through all 246 or so complaints/comments,
there are many people who have managed to get the details of the guy who is behind the scam, they hide behind a PO BOX/dormant physical address to hide their identity.

Even the ACMA has requested ebay to close them down because what they are doing is not only illegal but extremely dangerous.

The act of tampering of serial numbers and then replacing them with their own one to hide their deceit is absolutely disgusting and has left me speechless.

They also extort on feedback, so if you don't leave positive feedback they either cancel your warranty with them, ie if you have a problem, they will refuse to look at it and if you send it back to them, you will never hear from them again.

Also, they don't even turn up to court when they are ordered to and they even have the audacity to claim that you never purchased anything from them in the hope that you have lost the invoice.

they trade under multiple ABNs and bank accounts,

I cannot believe these guys have not been stopped, unfortunately for me, I have already passed my timeframe to directly put in a dispute.

Ebay said that they will not do anything about it, I also told them about the seller and his disgusting tactics and they told me to send an email to them, of which I got an automated reply, saying they will look into it which basically means, they will do NOTHING!!!

I also spoke to another ebayer who said that ebay are even aware that these guys are committing fraud but ebay doesn't care whatsoever, as they earn fees from them

I will now go the ACCC, CTTT, Dept of Fair Trading, Today Tonight and other media outlets, and I will not stop till they are shut down!!!!"

      • +6

I would like to see these guys banned from OB altogether.

        • +3

          Done.
Put a note at the top of this thread.

    • Bad seller.

  • this is probably the best reason why all ebay deals should be banned, except where the seller already has an established legitimate business before moving into ebay, but then again this seller has multiple PO boxes/ABN/account numbers making it hard to pin him down

  • It would appear that this is a scam, or at least a very shady operator. Beware.

  • OKay guyz, srry for posting this. I didnt really look at seller, just saw that they had high feedback and rushed to post this. Sighs…would've been a nice deal. Apologies agian XD
