Experiences with Ring Video Doorbells

Hi, has any fellow ozbarginers ad any experience with the Ring doorbell? Are they worth it? Have you been happy with it? and what would be the best price I should pay for one? Thanks, Brett.

  • Got a Ring 2, loved mine, loved it so much I bought another one for another one of my properties that I used as storage.

Works great on cable with speedboost, not so much when connected via a 4G connection so your internet connection will affect your experience.

    • Thanks mini2, i think I will get one…

I got the basic, possibly discontinued Ring doorbell at Bunnings around 6 weeks ago. Was on clearance for $108. Its been great, multiple phones can answer the door and battery charge seems to last well. Easy setup, have no grievances and would recommend it.

  • I use one at work - mainly for chimes set around the place for when a courier is at our warehouse roller door. Works well. If only they would remember to charge it.

  • I am not loving mine! Battery seems to run out and only sometimes warns you beforehand. The app takes too long to connect when someone rings the bell, so most times I don't actually see who is at the door. Also worth noting that you need the chime as well. Without it, the only noise the thing makes is on your phone.

  • I got a ring pro door bell, easy to install, good interface, easy to share with family members, easy to use, it not just a door bell, work as security camera as well.
Wish they have cheaper real POE, not the expensive POE version with additional attachments.
