iPhone 7/8 Will No Longer Be Bundled with 3.5mm Headphone Adaptor

Reddit users are reporting that their new iPhones do not come with a 3.5mm adaptor. From the looks of it, this applies to new stock. Anyone else affected by this?

Are they serious? I mean you pay hundreds for the phone and they can't include a simple cable. Its $15 for an official Apple adaptor.
I suppose they don't include earpods as well?

Don't they come with Lightning earpods? It's over 2 years since Apple got rid of the 3.5mm jack, in the iPhone 7, so it's not like they were going to keep bundling the adapter forever.

      • Oh, that makes more sense now. Still, I think having the adaptor + normal earpods is better because you can use earpods on other devices and/or connect other headphones to your iphone.

Apple doesn't become trillion dollar company by being generous. Their motto has always been "create a problem, and sell the solutions".

      Ok, let the neg begins.

there are 5 iphones + the new releases that doesn't have a jack. compare that to the dozen of android on this list and those not on the list.

apple may have started the list, but android is the one that's finishing it.

        • android has nothing to do with headphone jack

  • Possibly because rumour has it their iPads are going USB-C to allow 4K streaming over cable. They might be trying to phase people off dongles because they know those dongles about to become even more useless.

Seen the charging issues? Far bigger problem

    • The charging issue was fixed in the last update so no longer a problem.
I do use the adapters so I will miss getting one in the box.

  • There was an article on the verge about this: https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/12/17827970/no-more-free-iph…
