How Fast Do The Australian Open Tickets Usually Sell out?

Hey Guys,

I was looking at AO tickets for the main games. I dont know much about this area as I HATE tennis but my parents love Tennis and have been talking about how its on their bucket list! Thought I would have a look at the tickets for 2019 and they were all sold out for the main games.

Obviously I want tickets right in front and they are all gone!!!! so I am thinking next year I might keep and eye out and try and get on there quickly to get the tickets.

Cheers!!

There are hundreds of games to pick from as it's a tournament. You don't want tickets front and centre as its a pain moving your head/eyes back and forth. Best are behind the baseline like the POV from the TV. Or if going in the day, somewhere in the shade if at Vodafone/RLA/MGA.

  • hmm… right, but too far at the back would you still be able to see the game?

I was thinking of getting them seats for the Semi, Quarter and the Finals.. Thinking that they can just watch the other matches on the Tele hehehe

You can definitely see the match fine from anywhere in the stadiums, it's not the MCG. But buying all those tickets, that's like at least 12 hours of sitting and watching tennis.

You're better to ask your parents what match they'd like to see. Personally I hate doubles and probably prefer men's over womens singles (but will watch both).

      • hahaha yeah, I brought that up with them and they said they would like to see the Quarter, Semi and Finals

    • I was lucky enough to be at Novaks 1st AO final when he beat Tsonga, we had the upper level seats and it was horrible, needed to watch on the big screens mainly.

  • I try and get seats near the exits.

    • Quick in and out? I would think lots of foot traffic so disturbance?

You're only allowed to enter/exit on change of ends.

    • Are you a Clark Griswold fan? Might be useful for Kyrgios forfeits.

  • Depends if DeMinaur beats Federer.

  • I'm a tightarse so only get a ground pass but I've always been curious to how you can get into one of the sponsor lounges. I'm guessing it's all 1%ers getting inviting but still.

    • My manager used to give them out around Christmas time before the company ceased its sponsorship, got the box to ourselves as no-one else showed up.

Be careful with your seating selection, as some seats below/close to the court can get hit by the sun and those sitting in the sun didn’t look happy.

      • So you got into the lounge as well? e.g. Rolex, ANZ, etc.

  • Tickets usually go on sale in August. If you sign up to the website or are a member, they'll notify you when they go on sale. I believe the different levels of membership grant you early access, but, I could be wrong.
