At this price, I'd probably go for a yeelight which work natively with google assistant. I have plenty in my house and they work well Not sure about Alexa support. I appreciate you sharing this though!

    • Thanks. I also have Yeelight, but I was having issue setting up schedule time (have tried china and singapore server). Hopefully this one support local timezone and daylight time saving.

      • Oh ok. Good idea. I think I have scheduled on and off via IFTTT for kids’ rooms

        • Google Home supports routines in Australia as of a month or so ago. I found it very easy to assign times for on and off plus groupings triggered by phrases like 'Good night' to turn off the lights in certain areas of the house with my Yeelights, both version 1 and two.

          • @Rayve: Cool. I’ll try.

I have mine set to sunrise/sunset times via IFTTT. Does the job perfectly.

  • Is this supported by nest?

Hue needs a bridge to work, so you can't get a voice assisted light by just spending that $26.

      • lol got negged. 99.99% sure user asked if the Hue $26 bulb could be voice controlled but looks like they edited it.

Why the hell are all these smart lights Edison screw? I've never even seen an Edison plug in Australia, they're all bayonet clips.

    • Because bayonet is only the 'standard' in former british colonies, while Edison is standard in North America and Europe and importantly China.
If you were a manufacturer and only wanted to make one type, I think you'd choose E27 too.
Luckily, most of the sockets in my house are E27 for some reason…

Edison screws are often found in lamps (which is what we use ours in). I wish they'd make them in mr16 downlights.
ARe you lucvk enough to have bayonett bulbs in your ceiling? I hate dowblight, why do I want 4+ lights to do a worse job then 1 old fashion bulb, then there's the wasted power. Arrrrg

But there's plenty of adaptors out there
      Here's a 4pack for $8.29

      • Look at zenismart downlight or lifx

    • Phillips Hue have bayonet fitting. And if you don't care about colours, they do a dimmable warm white 2700k bulb for $25-30.

Match it with a used v1 Hue Bridge for $20-30 and it's about the cheapest way to get into smart lighting without going near bayonet to Edison screw adapters.

V1 bridge still works with Hue app, Google home, Alexa, Home Assistant, etc.

    • Look at new light fittings they all edison

  • Is this price still available? I see $62 on the link.
