    NEW $2 Cheesy Cheeseburger

As opposed to the Non-Cheesy Cheeseburger?

    • Then it's just a burger

    • +4

yes, its a different burger. it has a cheese sauce added, you can even see it in the picture

      • -2

        thanks

  • This reminded me… old PDF voucher page has expired! Anyone have a high res updated pdf to share?

    • high res updated pdf

Do they actually check the file format these days?

    • The vouchers on the site haven't been updated yet, but only the Penny Pinches section has expired.

Don't forget to use Shake & Win on the app for similar offers and the chance of a freebie.

    • +1

      Phone is fine

    • Unfortunately the shake and win feature is totally useless from my experience; none of the freebies actually work (gets an error message instead)

      • +1

Yeah, I keep getting "Voucher assignment has failed" message every time I get something free. Then I get a discount in the next shake :/

        • If you explain to the store what happened there, and are sincere and honest about it, most of the managers are nice people and would honour it. Show them the error message, explain what happened and what you 'won' in the app.
Any good manager would realise giving away the item (probably only worth a few cents to them in costs) is worthwhile to prevent a negative experience from customer getting ripped off by the faulty app. If it's happening often, then the managers would be aware of this issues. They cannot fix it, but they can 'make it right' by giving you the prize you are owed.

          • @Flanders: I couldn't even get them to honour a discounted chicken burger, so I left and stopped going to hungry jacks

            • @[Deactivated]: Wow, that's terrible management and customer service on HJ park. Most of the managers are nice and have great customer service.. You do get those ones that are against the customers somewhat, and treat customers badly…
I studied some marketing, it is a very basic principle, give good service and do whatever is needed to keep the customers you already have coming back, as it is much much more effort to get in new customers, and fairly little effort to keep customers you already have.
If I were you, I would let the matter be known by head office regarding the manager who refused to honour the discounted burger.

              • @Flanders: I've given up trying that. All the fast food companies feedback just gets sent to the owner/store manager. head office doesn't seem to give a shit. I have had some ok responses from a maccas and a kfc (both offered me free meals for ones where the meal was wrong in some way) but never a response from HJs.

      • I get it working every time.

      • Tried it just now to test it. Got a free Medium Frozen Coke with the barcode and all.

  • In other news I was at HJ today and ordered small Onion Rings. Firstly, they said they dont do small O.R any more…. then when I got the medium O.R, they were completely different to how they normally are. More a tempura style. Not really that great. What am I missing, when did they change?

    • Spicy? If so you got angry onions

      • Nup not Angry Onions….

    • +2

      Wtf? Tempura is best style.

      • Yes, when cooked by professional Japanese chefs, not kids with NFI.

    • Yeah, a couple of months ago they appeared to have changed to battered onion rings. I like them - they are more like what you'd get in a fish and chip shop, with a real onion ring, instead of the more formed style they used to do. They are made fresh to order every time, which is both a positive and a negative (don't order in drive thru or they will park you up to wait a few minutes), but man they are amazing!

  • What's with the mess of sauce and lettuce alongside the burgers? They need a new photo person.

    • I think they were aiming for food porn. ;}

  • Was going to try Strawberry Thickshake but then found natural colour 120 in the ingredients list.

    • Lucky I never had strawberry one… Just searched colour 120…

      • I just searched it also :/
Definitely would rather a chemically made colour rather than this

Cochineal is made from the bodies of dried pregnant scale insects

  • Im gonna be so fat, and Carls Jr hasn't even opened up yet. :-(

    • Carl's Jr was a bit disappointing in Australia (Bateau Bay NSW) tbh. So much better in America.
      So overpriced here!!

      • Wonder if the prices will be better in Melbourne?

        • +2

Doubt it and it's a limited menu too compared to the USA.

Having just got back from LA, Burger King is doing 10 Nuggets for $1 with 2 sauces. If you order 100 Nuggets they will deliver it for free in select area's. I stop at 30 if by myself, although we did do an 80 deal during a MLB playoff watch party.

Hopefully I will make it back there before they take the "Nightmare King" http://fortune.com/2018/10/18/nightmare-burger-halloween-201… off the menu.

That's the problem with the big chains (Carl's, BK/HJ, Taco Bell, KFC) in Australia, they just offer limited items and rehash the same product month after month with increased prices or reduced serving sizes. Maccas US is now even doing Freshly Cooked when ordered Quarter Pounder burgers.

  • Do they still do the $3 deluxe thickshake and $3 storms?

    • They were removed a while back, before the $2 Small Sundae rolled in.

  • You can add free salads to the cheeseburger too

  • anyone tried the Cheesy Cheeseburger? it looks a bit sloppy, but if it tastes ok i might try it, i normally find Macca's cheeseburgers much nicer though

    • +1

They're not too bad, still prefer the BBQ cheeseburger over it tbh.
      It's very rubbery though.

    • +1

I tried it for the first time today and enjoyed it. 50c cheaper than the BBQ Cheeseburger, LOTSA cheese and I have my fave BBQ sauce (Masterfoods Smokey BBQ sauce) within easy reach.

  • Can you go heavy mayo for free?

  • 15c for extra mayo.

    • scabs! at least HJ are usually pretty generous with their mayo though, unlike Maccas & Red Rooster who never put enough on unless u ask for extra

      • Yep! Also their BBQ Cheeseburgers are just loaded with BBQ sauce.

  • I tried to order the small onion rings for one dollar at Ashfield and they advised they do not do that anymore.

    • Strange. It's available at both of my local Hungry Jack's.

      • not only that, I order 3 cheesy cheeseburgers and 4 small fries for $10 - I get home, open the bag and I only got two cheesy cheeseburgers…

        • +1

I always check before I leave because a lot of time, whether it's KFC/Maccas/HJ, they all have a habit of missing 1 or 2 items. It's frustrating but I always double-check after ordering. It happens during busy hours at the stores, but it's not acceptable. You can always ask for a refund next time if you visit with the receipt, if they're nice that is…

          • @smogg: seems to happen alot on Sunday/Mondays when the kids serving all have hangovers from a big weekend

  • Caramel Shake is so good. :o

  • +1

I finally tried the cheesy cheeseburger, it was probably one of the most disgusting things i've ever eaten, actually only ate half of it & chucked the rest. The sauce is like that kraft cheese spread but if you microwaved it, super salty, & like the regular cheeseburger the meat is rubbery with no taste. At least their larger burgers have more flavour.

  • Expired. $1 small chips replaced by $2 large chips for example.
