Presumably because everything is moving towards a "nothing but screen" aesthetic…. and adding physical buttons probably costs an extra few cents per unit.
ugh - bought a paperwhite a few weeks ago (which I love by the way) after holding off the digital bandwagon for ages.
Anyways, from what I can see, lighter, thinner and waterproof with more storage?
Thankfully not earth shattering so my initial annoyance has quickly worn off.
Water proofing and Audible integration are great new features. Perfect for the beach.
Same screen resolution so meh. Current isn't in anyway too heavy or anything.
How is an extra $120 "with free 4G"? I think they should remove the term "free". You're paying for a limited internet connection. It's a great idea, but it's not free.
I've got a Voyage, and the only premium feature that has that I love, is the page press function. I read quite fast, so I do get sick of swiping continually to change pages. I got it from eBay years ago, not thinking I'd win the auction. It was overpriced, but I love it.
If I was buying again, I'd buy the Paperwhite WiFi with 8GB, because I delete my books after reading them or else I can't keep up with what I'm still to read. I usually have around 1000 books on my device, but lately I've dropped that down to about 500 unread ones.
Now that Amazon US can ship to Australia, why can't we buy this from the US??? It's more expensive here… SO ANNOYING
Why are page buttons a premium feature? Still using old kindles in my house for this reason alone.
