  • Makita cordless seem to be lagging behind Dewalt and Milwaukee in the last year or so. As a result we're seeing some fantastic redemption offers from them. Great deal.

    • How are they lagging behind? In sales or quality?

Given 5AH on the Ryobi setup is $300, this seems like a good deal.

Makita's biggest battery is 6ah whereas Milwaukee and Dewalt are both at 12ah. Dewalt have the new flexvolt range out and the limited range they do have is incredibly powerful. Milwaukee have a fantastic warranty and huge range. All my tradie mates used to have Makita but when it's comes to buying new kits everyone is jumping ship. I myself have Makita and find myself constantly grabbing another brand due to the power.

Also the trade nights that I go to, the Makita displays / reps are quiet compared to how they used to be. Again by comparison the yellow and red companies are selling heaps.

Makita is still quality gear but i'm guessing they're seeing a downturn in sales and thus the redemption offers stepping up a notch. :)
