WTB - New 8 plug or more Powerboard

Hey guys looking for a new 8 plug power socket powerboard… Perhaps with power surge protection..
Ummm looking for some cheap options.. So none of the $180 belkin stuff

Any ideas / help would be greatly appreaciated..

By the way guys.. Is there any pros and cons of using a cheap 8 plug powerboard .. Other than potential power surge protection failure!?

  • So none of the $180 belkin stuff

    There's a $55 Belkin stuff with good warranty: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/40282

Or if you don't really care about reliability or brand, then they can normally be bought from various online stores for a bit cheaper. i.e.:

  • Is there any difference between the cheap / expensive stuff tbh?

  • Grab the HPM 12 Outlet powerboard for under $40. Its good if you have alot of those big power adapters. Dick Smith sells them with free delivery.

  • Cheaper ones that offer lightning protection once hit will be useless afterwards. More expensive ones like Transtector make have a high MOVs rating which allows the board to be hit multiple times over the years before it wears out. Each time it is hit the MOVs decrease.
If you're going cheap, just get the cheapest, don't bother with inbetween stuff.

  • Hey guys
    thanks for the suggestions
Went with what racka said but went to my local Bunnings down the road… $38 :)
