  • They took 20 days to deliver to cairns and 2 of the front 3 usb ports Weren't working.

thats the biggest issue - problems with the build, since it's expensive af to return it for fixing any issues. did they offer a solution?

  • Got experience with these guys. First off, great value, but more importantly, the parts can be dodgy. For me it was the Psu, about a week in after being under loads the psu would make a literally ear piercing sound, I swear I may have damaged my ears by listening to it a couple of times. Replaced it with a decent bronze 500w and it was all good to go. The Psu was literally no brand, looked so dodgy once put of the case.

  • Trigger pulled.

    • Let us know how the benchmarks go :)

  • Very tempting to upgrade my AMD desktop (FX-8350, SLI GTX 760). Wonder how this compares against it especially the Radeon RX580 vs the GTX 760 SLI.

  • Most components are some unkown brand. Most importantly GPU, MB, Ram & PSU.

I would not rely on these cheap components personally.

    • Kind of the reason why I'm holding off. RMA would be a pain. Local umart/msy I was able to RMA my GPU after two years and it was replaced with a better newer model. Easier to walk into a store than to post.. Tech fast sound like a decent company though.

I find it funny that there are more than 100 upvotes but only 12 sold.

    • We're all either to poor or have already have a system!

Probably cause it's AMD…. An intel+nvidia combo would probably sell better

      • Aren't Ryzen the current leaders of the intel/amd game of cat and mouse?

        • +1

Yea but the regular Joe would stick with whats familiar to them even if AMD offered a better price/performance ratio

          • @R3XNebular: I'm a regular Joe, what is the downside to amd for Windows 10

            • @[Deactivated]: possibly some bios issues

              • @belongsinforums: ? No issues here… There was something with 1803 Win 10 not updating a while back, but that was patched.

                • @Cave Fire: Long time ago I heard amd always overheat. I usually never turn off my pc, and then I place it inside the TV cabinet with minimal ventilation.

Do you think AMD will be an issue for me?

                  • @[Deactivated]: i havent had amd yet but ive had nothing but trouble with nvidia overheating

                  • @[Deactivated]: Hard to say. But as long as you pay attention to temps as normal, I think you should be alright. I think Ryzen CPUs are different to the last gen of Amd CPUs with a lower nm size and power consumption. More efficiency vs raw power. Maybe you would add fans and get a better cooler for 24/7 use.

                    • @Cave Fire: Hmm too risky. I think I'll pass this deal. Thanks guys.

                    • @Cave Fire: at there price Iam upgrading the CPU cooling -look on their web site

                      • @RonaldR: yeah, it's a good deal. I paid about $1200 all up for a Ryzen 7 system, with a r9 270x in March. I should have said add fans + the cooler if you are really concerned or want best performance. Don't think it's an issue for 24x7 use as it is. Ryzens also come with an alright cooler anyway and the case offered and it seems like it has a lot of ventilation in the front lol.

                  • @[Deactivated]: The ryzen processors seem tk do well with temps, especially if comparing it to an intel equivalent using stock coolers.

The graphics cadds are on par with temps (depending on card of course). Though still consume more power I think.

TL;DR, AMD is actually pretty good, especially at the low end. The biggest problems witb this build IMO would be the case and power supply.

I'm a regular Joe, what is the downside to amd for Windows 10

I assume you are asking what the downsides of AMD are for a Windows 10 system.

For this price range, there is no downside to the AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
The RX580 is a great card as well, downside is AMD's OpenGL drivers. These days, it pretty much only affects Cemu Emulator. You can only run Zelda at 30fps (native), not 60 (2x native with some hacks).

Unless you mean "what are the downsides of Windows 10?" in which case, there are plenty:
              https://itvision.altervista.org/why-windows-10-sucks.html

              • @idonotknowwhy: Thanks man, I'm pretty sure with Windows 10

    • Waiting for ryzen 4000 series.

  • Wait for a monitor deal or try their bundle?

    • +1

this particular setup doesn't give a discount on the monitor when bundled

    • +1

Monitor is just 60hz I believe. Keyboard and mouse are likely bad, but to be fair that's just paired keyboard and mouse.

If you're planning on just grabbing a better monitor/keyboard and mouse anyway go without the bundle. If you aren't, or just want an extra monitor, sure I suppose.

  • Looking for a new desktop for gaming/video editing. Want to hopefully do 4K editing sometime soon, think this is worth it for the parts? I'll probs upgrade case and other components as well with it, but don't know if processor and graphics card are worth.

    • iirc you'll probably want a beefier cpu for video editing. the graphics card is good tho

  • Hi, I'd like to ask if this PC ship internationally. When I entered overseas address it doesn't work on ebay, but item description said it is available.

I have been looking at computers with similar specs in Harvey Normans and a few other stores -they have windows 10 no disk, also they have sardine can cases. BUT are double the price. so going to buy one with the following upgrades Blue-ray burner, upgrade ram , and CPU cooling. Can buy legit windows and office keys on line for around a $100 . so even when they are not on special they are a good price.

    • +3

      Cool story bro

      • lmao windows 10 isn't worth more than $10 with all the monitoring they've put in there. Disable Cortana and a clown fiesta ensues, problem with windows 10 is it doesn't handle being offline very well, or if you have a dodgy Oz internet connection tiny data downloads/uploads in the background can trash your online gaming experience.

Biostar RX 580 ??? No thanks.

Just checked out the specs and not sure why people are getting a toughie over this deal.

PSU crap, motherboard crap, GPU unknown, SSD will mostly likely be a Chinese replica, case crap.

Personally I'd rather pay about $180 extra (MSY quote posted earlier in the thread) and get known brand components.

A good marketing ploy thought, the Ryzen 2600 does make it all look good on the surface until you look deeper.
