super glue or even better araldite

  • Super glue will be fine

I'd sand it a little and use lots of silicon to keep water out.

From my experience superglue won’t hold it strongly enough and it will be brittle and probably break again. Silicon might hold it together but it isn’t very rigid and will flex.

The best solution I’ve found for fixing plastic is plastic welding - ie using heat to melt the plastic back together. If necessary cut off a little bit from a nearby area and melt that in to increase strength. ive used a soldering iron a few times now to weld plastic. Seems to work pretty well, but does require a little practice.

  • if there's space, plate with bolt and nut.

  • Plastic welding is the only method strong enough for this poly style material, as the damage includes mounting lugs. To then be even better, replace it as any moisture ingress will cause corrosion and imminent failure.

  • I have had success repairing plastic items with this glue, but I wasn’t fixing anything load bearing.

  • "Dear Experts"….

    Wrong place for that.

We are jack of all trades, experts at none

  • Actually, come to think of it superglue sprinkled with baking soda can provide a strong bond and used as a filler to build up the joint. Be careful though it goes rock hard in a couple of seconds and is very difficult to deal with once set as it is very hard. I’ve only tried it once to set the plastic handles onto some scissors, but it seems good so far.
