Recovering Old Files -- from Andriod 5.0.2 (MIUI 9.6 Now)

Dear Fellows,

I am trying to recover some old files from my phone storage (not SD storage), which I deleted about after a week.
I think I did not have cloud storage for that file, not sure whether softwares like "Android Files Recovery" work well or not.

Do you have any ideas how I would recover those??

    Try to limit using your phone to decrease the chance of the files being overwritten. DiskDigger is a good app for this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttec… The free version can only recover photos and videos though.

      thank you, i will try this. but it was in 2016, so i am afraid it would be quite impossible, you reckon?

        It only/mostly matters when the files were last deleted - because that's when the same sectors on the disk would start getting overwritten.

        Though if you mean you deleted the files in 2016 and you've been using the phone normally since then? Yeah no chance.

    Did you email the file to someone? If its that important you could probably get a data recovery company to try and get it off your phone, but it wouldn't be cheap I don't think. Backing up your phone occasionally would help.

      i did not email it to anyone.. yep, i know it would not be cheap, i am just trying to find cheap options. haha
