Cost to Install Split System Unit (Sydney)

Hey All,

I'm wondering what a reasonable cost to pay would be for the installation of a Fujitsu C8.5kW H9.0kW Reverse Cycle Split ASTG30KMTA.

The meter box will only be a couple meters from the outdoor unit.

The outdoor unit will be about 9m from the indoor unit and will be concrete.

The wall the indoor unit is being installed on is single brick.

Recommendations for installers welcome too!

EDIT - This is the quote I received -

Recommend 8.5kw Fujitsu wall mounted split a/c ( standard back to back installation) $829

Additional 8m of piping $480

Additional labour- nonstandard job $280

Disconnect an existing a/c at the front $180

TOTAL $1,769 incl gst

Thanks
Chris

  • Get someone to come in and give you a quote. Cost goes up depending on how many turns for the pipe and how far the indoor and outdoor units are from each other. Back to back installs cost me around $400-$500 each split air con for me in QLD which includes cabling. I provided them with base for the outdoor unit.

  • Goodguys do quotes for like ~$50. IT comes off the price if you go with them.

In my experience (bought and installed 5+ 2.5kw/ 3.5kw reverse cycles over the years), the install has cost the same as the aircon units ($800 for the unit, $800 for the install). Fujitsu is awesome, best brand I've come across.

GG provides good service and they clean up their mess.

Use giftcards to reduce the cost.

  • I recently bought my own 2.5kw unit from good guys and got it installed for $550 but it was a cashy and the unit was installed atleast 30 metres from the sub board so it took the guy all day, plus he had to make allowance in the sub board for a deparate circuit and fusing etc.
