Bought a TV a Few Weeks Ago. It's Unopened, Now It's Being Sold Cheaper

Hi guys
A few weeks ago I bought a Hisense 50P7 from JB Hi Fi in preparation for a move that we started yesterday. The TV is still in its box and was bought at $998, but today I received an email fhowing it on sale for $798

Is there anything I can do to recover the difference?

TV was purchased on the 13th of October

Talk to the store. See what they can do.

What is JB’s change of mind? You can return it and rebuy it if it’s a lenient policy.

    • The $2 is irrelevant to me. I'm looking to hopefully just be able to present a receipt and reclaim my $200

what did JB say when you asked them?

did you pay with a CC that has price protection?

Did you pay it on a credit card with price protection insurance? You should be able to claim the difference on that easily as it's the same store.

    • I paid with a Visa debit. I think I'm just gonna call the store and find out
      Thank you

      • Keep us posted!

        • We commented at the same time and the results are good :)

      That's very good of them.

Keep an eye on the price for the next few weeks. If the price goes up make sure to repay them the difference :)

You need to include a poll:

    1. Complain on ozbargain
    2. Contact the store and ask for the difference back
    3. Monitor the price daily and hope price deflation is non existent
    4. Get on with life
    • Seeing as I've never experienced this situation before, I thought I would ask here first as that's generally the purpose of a forum. But if your sarcasm makes you feel fulfilled, good for you.

    • People don't have common sense these days, first point of contact, business you dealing with.
That is the first thing ACCC going to ask you, have you contact the business or is it Ozb?

Good ol buy again and return the other one?

  • OP, would you be able to send me photo of the email showing the tv for $798 please?

I submitted a price protection through my credit card and they are asking for proof, and my offline page I saved of the deal doesn't load properly (I knew I should have taken a photo instead)
