Have not been for 2 years now last time I went OOL -> Tokyo then its a cheap flight across I think with Peach Air (?) cant quite remember. With a jetstar deal its something like $800 return total but its a bit inconvenient getting to OOL airport.
Anyone ever leave via Brisbane? Korean Air fare is usually $1700 return.

Qantas has had some sales previously for 800 return from Brisbane to Tokyo so that may be a slightly more exxy option when you add the Korea flight on top. If you have some Qantas points that helps the deal.
I believe you can also get some deals through China, Thai or Philippine Airlines but you have the stop in those places not Tokyo.
