Grays Online Refurbished Lenovo Laptops

Hi All

Need to replace an aging HP ultrabook. Battery life is non existent and it has a broken hinge. 6 years old now.

Thinking something like this

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-Yoga-900-13-3-QHD-i5-8GB-…

$660 bucks its a modern equivalent of what i have, good size, portable etc.. I have a part time job processing online paperwork so i lug it to my full time gig with me when i'm expecting to work in my lunch break but otherwise i take my Surface 3 with me if i'm not expecting to do any work (always need to have a pc on hand in case as the paperwork is time sensitive)

Anyone have experience buying a refurbished lenovo from grays before? New for the same spec i'm up for a grand it seems

Cheers

Seems like a pretty good price and decent specs

Be aware it's likely to have scuffs or scratches on it; ie don't expect brand new condition

    • Few scuffs i can handle, as long as that is all that is wrong

    As per ebay.

    About this item
    Condition
Manufacturer refurbished. An item that has been professionally restored to working order by a manufacturer or manufacturer-approved seller or retailer. This means the product has been inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition. This item may or may not be in the original packaging. See the seller’s listing for full details.

If the laptop's screwed or anything like that, ebay'll help you…of that fails, Aus has some noice consumer protection.

i bought a refurb lenovo ideapad from grays 8 months ago. it was in excellent condition. cosmetic-wise it was new.

  • Any reason you can't just use the Surface all the time? Wouldn't think processing paperwork online requires much in terms of computer spec.

    • It really chugs a bit. I need to use a piece of proprietary software which needs a bit of processing power otherwise it takes ages between screens.

I'm happy to have it as a backup in case i get allocated a job unexpectedly but if i've got a bit on, its much nicer using something with grunt.

  • Ended up pulling the trigger on a 13" Yoga 720 i7/8gb/256gb for like $715

If it ends up being a terrible experience, i'll report back

    How was the yoga 720?

  • Update?

    • Have been using it ever since. No issues at all. Really happy with it

Just in case someone thread digs this, over 18 months old, laptop still running as new.
