Xbox One X Game Recommendations

So like a lot of people I jumped on the JB deal for the one X but other than RDR2 and Forza Horizon 4 (both games I desperately wanted to play) I'm not sure of what to buy next?
I am a PC gamer, so that complicates things. However I have been considering Black Ops 4 since everytime I played a CoD game on PC it was a terrible port and filled with cheaters.

Comments

  • It's come with Forza 7 aswell.

  • Housemate loves Forza and Destiny 2.

Battlefield series is an ok one if you can find some people on discord or something.

    • Both the forza games came with the console so I'll be playing a lot of them.
BF5 has been getting a lot of controversy lately and honestly almost forgot it existed. I would like to wait till it releases because I don't like pre-ordering.

      • Definitely wait till after the pre order and first wave first day release non sense but it is definitely on my radar for pc.

Cod is alright if that is your thing.

Anthem around the corner but I have a feeling it won't be great just average.

I played the BFV open beta on pc and forget what everyone was crying about it is a fine fine game people just butthurt from past EA experiences and understandably so.

I mean there is always Fortnite and PUBG right?

If I had an Xbox One X it would mostly be a glorified media machine for a TV.

Looks like they have some fitness stuff exclusive to xbox so there is that and the kinect? lol

        • Yeah I feel like the ozbargainer got better of me and soon mine might also become a glorified media machine once I finish playing RDR2 and Forza Lol

          • @Ostrk: Hehe yeah. I did the maths and really it is just a simplified version of a media box really. I mean the ui and layout is nice something different is always good but the bigger picture is hard to ignore heh.. but don't sweat it thanks to ozbargain hopefully the hit wasn't too big and there are worse things you could have spent that money on.. trust me.

  • Masterchief collection
    Halo 5
The available splinter cells (backwards compatible)
    Gears of War
    Quantum break
    Mass effect trilogy
    Doom
    Witcher 3

Sunset overdrive (not my cup of tea but lot of people like it)

Use your free gamepass trial to check out a lot of the games.

If you can find people to play with and have heaps of time to kill even Sea of Thieves is fun.

    • I'd buy Halo MCC for $10 (from CD Keys) - just been revamped and such good value
Rainbow 6 Siege still has an online following
      Far Cry series
Tomb Raider (Rise of the Tomb Raider + the new one) - both have amazing graphics on the X

  • RDR2

  • Red Dead Redemption (the first one) has a 4k patch on One X as well as Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3 and Witcher 2. Also worth noting is that all Original Xbox games that have become playable via backwards compatibility play in 4k.

As for current gen titles, Fortnite, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Battlefield 1, Quantum Break, the Halo Games, Gears of War 4 and Rise of The Tomb Raider are what come up on my console as "One X Enhanced"

    • Oh right I completely forgot about backwards compatibility. This might come in useful since some games that are 10 year old run dogshit on my PC (ryzen 1600+8g+rx480 8gb)
Does any Xbox 360 disk work on the One X? If so then I might just head on down to gumtree, find a guy selling a buttload of them and pick them up for cheap.

      • Not all of them work, but a lot of the popular ones do. And then only a select few have the native 4k patch while others are just upscaled.

Orange Box also got the 4k enhancement last week if you're interested in Portal and/or Half Life 2

        • Now that I think of it Witcher 2 and Dark Souls 3 are two games I put off because they sucked on mouse and keyboard. Witcher 2 is cheap so I might buy it again just to play it if it's 4k enhanced.

  • +1

BO4 is made by treyarch, their games are really well optimised for PC.

    • I see that's good to hear. I heard the playerbase on PC for cod has always been full of hackers. Is that true? if so I may still consider buying on Xbox instead.

      • That’s probably the old call of duty’s, can’t remember the last time I saw a hacker on the newer cods on pc

        • I see. I'll probably get it on the platform that is cheaper then. So far the best price I found for either platform was 62 from Gamesmen Ebay store (59 once you use 5% off code)
