  • You must be a new member to apply for this promotion ?

    • YES

    • Yeah, looks like for new customers only. Seems like kind of a promotion

I am pretty sure you can get at least 1 month for free on a trial basis using coupons - its 14 days as standard.

I know once I got a free 2 month trial with a coupon from the Womens Weekly.

$7 for 2 months aint bad though.

    • Yeap, exactly what I did before. Got a trial and found out that services are great.

Agreed that $7 for 2 months is a great deal!

  • There was a trial offer where you could have 16 DVDs, max 2 DVDs (no BR) at a time for 2 months. You might be able to find the code somewhere. For that one at least you had to call them up on the phone to cancel or they would start charging your credit card.

  • +1

I recently got the $1 for 6 weeks promotion. You should be aware that they WILL request a credit card, and they WILL charge it $3 to make sure its legit. They then reverse the $3 charge a few days later.

  • I always get caught not sending stuff back.

2 months is good … I couldn't find much I wanted that was available during a shorter trial period.

    • +2

You should go for this 2 months then. That's a pretty long time for you to find what you want compared to the usual few weeks trials. Plus its only for $7, I'd go for it.

      • Yep I plussed it it. Would have to find a way to become a new customer!

  • Awesome, great deal. Just got my hand on one, thx for the info man 7 bucks for 2 months

  • +1

How "cheap" is it after the two months?

  • I purchased it this morning too. Think it also sounds like a great deal, good excuse to not buy any movies for 2 months (so with spending $7, i am potentially saving $xxx). Can't hurt, if i dont like it, its only $7!

  • Warning; although they advertised all DVDs and BluRays you will NOT get any BluRays or new DVDs or Premium DVDs with their special offers. Been there and had the arguement on their last promotion. Yes their ads say you get it all but that's only after the promotion finishes and you signup at full price.

    • Could you clarify this - you can't get ANY Blu-Rays with this offer? Or is it just new ones?

      • I signed-up to a deal that said in the advertising all DVDs and BluRays included. When I tried to borrow a BluRay, new DVD, or Premium DVD, the system would not let me. I rang and complained and was told that although the ad said all DVDs and BluRays that I could not have access to them until I was paying the full price (at the end of my 2 months). Escalated complaint, and had it confirmed in writing from Q management that this was their normal practice.

Seems these discounted plans are just teasers showing you what you could get without actually giving you the good stuff.

Anyway, on this particular deal I suggest we ask someone who has just signed-up to confirm.

Negging because you need to be a new customer.
They have been sucking my money because i never return disks, and i get no fun :(

  • the only place i have ever had a bad experience with in AUS is quickflix..i had used the free trial that they have on offer always, after which i had canceled my account..then i got an email from ebay saying they had a free trial offer from quickflix for its members..i thought this was a deal for ebay members and had nothing to do with the quickflix offer..so i cashed this in using the same details as when i signed up for the quickflix offer..

so instead of me not being able to use this straight away since all types of free offers are for new customers only (which i did not know then) they let me get away with it for a week..after which they charged my card for $25.95 and still kept me on the trial offer (did not upgrade my subscription to what i got charged)..i asked them why that was and got a reply saying coz i did not qualify for a free offer but since i signed up for one that was the plan i had to be on for the rest of the month..aarrggg..wel i left it at that and canceled my account..

anyway not negging coz this is just my personal experience with them..looks like a good deal..sux about the 'new customer' clause again..why arent the existing or previous customers good enough for things these days..

They often give these sorts of deals away through various groups - I recently got offered this same deal for free through my electricity company. To have to pay for it is bad deal.

I'd also note that during your trial period they won't allow you to mark the discs as returned online, instead you've got to wait for the disc to get back to them & for them to open their mail… for me (in Brisbane) this meant a greater than 1 week turnaround on all discs. Also, during the promotional period they won't let you have the newest releases - these are all reserved for paying customers.

  • I took a trial of this a while back. At the time there was no distinction between DVD's and Blu Ray's. Seems like this is a change they have made which makes Blu Ray rental more expensive. The process worked OK but you could never get any popular titles - the queues were too long. Cancelling was a but painful too, their phone didn't answer when I called.

Some of the posts confirm my bad experience.

The only way to cancel is by phone and they never answered on 4 occasions.
Your trial period rolls into a monthly plan (in my case).
Queues are very long for popular items.
Lastly and most importantly, we sent every item back but one DVD was never received by them. Result? Coughing up $30 for the privilege. I reckon your gambling $30 every time you post something.

    • Yep, my experience was almost exactly the same (plus dont forget the newest and other 'premium' titles are not available until you become a full member) and not worth the trouble.

For me at least, there are far easier, quicker & cheaper ways of getting what I want.
