Gym charges my FREE PT Sessions and Refuses to Refund

I joined a new gym in the end of June and they gave me a FREE PT session but it wasn't the most pleasant experience that I had, so the guy who signed me up said he will assign a new trainer for me and give me another 2 extra FREE PT sessions for that.

Here is the problem, he only said it verbally and I was stupid enough not to tell him to write it down in black and white.

Months later, I was charged more than the sessions that I've attended (due to the new PT cancelling on me for most time) so I asked them for refunds.

They eventually refunded most of the fee to me except the 2 FREE sessions.

Now the guy who signed me up and the new PT both don't work there anymore, and the new person who takes care of this matter wouldn't refund the remains, is there anything that I can do about this?

Any helpful advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

EDIT: got half the refund back and cancelled my membership as I don't want to waste any more time dealing with it anymore

If there was ever a time for Bikies, this would be it.

    Months later,

why are only complaining about the charges for the 2 FREE PT sessions now?

I've been chasing it up for a while, but it takes them a long time to get back to me.

They've actually charged me 3 times extra when I've already paid for the sessions that I've done while signing up the gym.

First time was around mid July, and I had to contact them multiple times to get my first refund a month later.

I also didn't get around to the gym much due to other priorities so couldn't get the issue sorted.

How are they charging you? If it's by credit card I'd just do a chargeback and be done with them.

Not really. It's your word vs theirs at this point.

  • Find out which bikie club they are undoubtedly linked to, then go to their rival.

So you've had bad experiences with 2 separate PT's from the gym, the gym person who originally offered you the "deal" AND now the person looking after the situation?

Cut your losses, and join a new gym - they're a dime a dozen these days

    Threaten to terminate your membership.

It's the only time a gym notices a member.

  • Post on their Facebook page, google review, etc etc until they do what you want

  • How much are we talking about?

  • If they're already doing unauthorised transactions that's freud for a start.

So they ended up refunding back one session (payment comes in two) and said the first complimentary isn't free lol.

I couldn't bothered to waste my time any longer so I took it and cancelled my membership.

    Thank you everyone

    • complimentary isn't free

      @.@

      • Well they said the first one wasn't complimentary since I bought a PT session pack at a discounted rate, which was totally different to what the guy that signed me up said.

Gym PTs are generally pathetic anyway. Most of them come up with a list of 8-10 exercises and pluck an imaginary number of sets and reps, then just sit there and be a counter.

Now that you're out of the commercial gym, I hope you're not giving up on weights. Lots of solid ways to continue weight training.

@[Deactivated]: Definitely not gonna give up, currently looking for other alternatives. I still find going to the gym is the easiest for me.
