It's cheap but the mi pad 4 destroys this.

    • Comparable price?

$60 difference when on sale but SD660, 3 GB Ram, 32gb storage, android 8.1.

        • That model is WiFi only and this is LTE though

          • @noone: You'll have to decide on your own whether you need that or not.

            • @DASHCAM NOW DUDE: I understand that but my point is the mi pad 4 deal you posted is not comparable since it doesn't have LTE

            • @DASHCAM NOW DUDE: There is also a no LTE version of this device which can be purchased for $130.

              • @PR0r: Would you please provide a link?

                • @chaliban: Search OzBargain (I'm not aware of any wifi deals at the moment). If you can wait another week you will be sure to pick one up for a similar price. The 11/11 sales aren't far away!

  • Great tablet. Has anyone successfully rooted it?

  • How good is this tablet?

    • Really good for media, good screen, nice speakers. Pretty slow with most other things but not unusable. 4G basically never worked though, got 3G sometimes.

Unfortunately mine seems to have died after only about three months, didn't use it for a while, charged it up from no battery, switched it on and it just loops between the loading screens. Safe mode doesn't work, couldn't even switch it off.

Also pretty sure I got it for closer to $150-160 so there might be better deals out there.

    • I bought mine (new) through Gumtree (posted from Sydney to Perth) for $169, throw in another $12 for a case…WiFi only, had about 2 weeks now. I'm still on stock marshmallow rom.

Overall for the money I'm super happy, Screen is nice, size is great, performance seems OK. I've played games like Asphalt 8 & NBA Jam and it was fine…battery seems to be OK, I've done some Perth-Melbourne flights watching movies (MXPLayer Pro) and playing games and it was fine.

So yes, there are other options like MiPad and even iPads, but from a value perspective (>$200) this fits my needs well.

  • will wait to see if there is a better price on 11.11

  • Can you make calls with it like a mobile phone without using an app? Does it have a dialer?

  • Has anyone resolved the annoying 'too many apps auto start' persistent notification issue?!

  • Does it work well with games?
