I think you can get it from shopping express for around the same price and hopefully get an AC code.

    • They're outta codes, no luck with shopping express sadly.

    • They dont have any codes.

  • No m.2 in 1tb

    • Yeah, sold out unfortunately :(

  • Hey SSD aficionados, the half length m.2 are called mSata yeah? Found a spare laptop that has a slot to supports it and would love to slip one in as a secondary
    storage.

no, M.2 and MSATA are physically different.

      For clarification..

M.2 is a socket, and has different 'keys' (plastic tabs to stop unsupported cards being inserted).
M.2 sockets can contain various numbers and types of interfaces, 'M' key for example is common and has 4x PCIe lanes and SATA support.
M.2 sockets can also contain SATA pins in addition to the PCIe lanes.
Thus per above M.2 SSD's can be either NVME or SATA
M.2 Peripherals come 22mm in width and various lengths, 80mm being most common (2280) for SSD's, but 110mm (22110) and 60mm (2260) are also sometimes available.
I have a crucial 512GB M.2 SATA 2260, was the largest M.2 SSD i could fit in my Notebook that does NOT support anything over 60mm.

mSATA is as said above a different connector entirely and as the name suggests is SATA only.

If your board is mSATA i'd advise against getting an mSATA SSD if you wish to use it in future, the latest boards no longer have mSATA sockets.
In a pinch an adapter can be purchased to allow it to connect via a SATA cable to a regular SATA port.
If you don't have M.2 i'd suggest just getting a plain 2.5" SATA SSD, same interface speed as mSATA but gives you more options for running it in other/future machines.

  • I paid $230 from JW about 2 weeks. Not a bad price.

  • Does this deal include Assassin Cred Odyssey?
Edit: Nvm. They are out of codes apparently. Shame but still an awesome deal.

  • I paid $259 - 20% = $207.20… different seller though - tech.mall, but invoice came for the full amount (will TRS) from "gaming city" :)
