The model that on sale is 16GB and I recommended of getting a 64GB or 128GB for 4K recording. And there’s a problem for blackvue dash cam (latest model) is you better of using the blackvue brand sdcard or genuine brand.

There was some issues of using other brand sdcard and blew the dashcam and void the warranty.

    • +1

With the $200+ saving just buy one elsewhere.

    • +1

I bought the 128gb Lexar 633x micro SD card for my 750s dash cam. Have had no issues. Hope the same will apply for the newer model.

    • blew the dashcam

The material used in microsd doesn’t spontaneously combust. It’s more likely than the lithium or capacitor in the blackvue caused the dashcam to swell up and pop.

      • -1

BlackVue all have supercaps now instead of the lithium battery.

        • +1

So the capacitor swelled and popped . That’s a quality control issue which blackvue have to remedy under statutory guarantees.

  • i bought only 1ch any chance i get for the rear one? or should I need to buy the 2ch?

  • Gives an error when try to order online for delivery

  • +2

eBay store doesn't have more than 16GB :(

I purchased 2 X DR900s 128GB last night from their website. They are being tricky, probably don't want people buying them at this price lol.

TIP: It seems you can't get these things delivered, it keeps coming up with an error calculating delivery. Add anything to the order and it will work. I add one of the below hooks (don't even know what size I'll get) and it worked.

    Enjoy!

  • That price…

Yes, this dashcam is for those expensive European luxury cars, not for your normal Corolla ;p

  • Even for an European car, should I go with Viofo A129 duo or this?

    • Definitely A129

    Thanks OP
Ended up purchasing at a store directly since ebay wasn't working. Still a good price. Remember to factor in the power magic pro kit ($70) and installation ($160-180).

    • Any recommendation for installer in Sydney

      • +1

Autobarn will install it for you. Lifetime warranty for the installation.

      • +1

I would highly recommend Bendas installations in Sydney. Michael is the guy who installed these on my Skoda; he did a fantastic job in hiding the wires and making it look as factory as possible.

        • +1 for Michael.

He'll come to you and do an excellent job

I'd recommend Cellink b battery pack for longer recording and minimal drain on car's battery.

Guys please please please do yourself a favour and get a 128gb card if you are getting this dashcam. Someone vandalised my car the other day and I could go back to view the footages that were recorded 3 days prior to find the person. With 16gb you might have a harder time retrieving what's important.

  • Does this do lane departure warning?

    • no, its only a gps dashcam.

      • +1

That can’t be right. An a119s that costs ~$130 have ldws.

        • +3

i would only put my faith into a factory installed vehicle LDWS, and even then i wouldn't trust it fully. No one in their right mind would want a aftermarket LDWS system, let alone rely on one from something that costs $100? All it would do is beep, and even then with line markings not being consistent, there would be a lot of false positives. Both my vehicles have adaptive radar cruise, LDW & ALG. I still have my foot hovering over the brake pedal!

          • @FarQ: Having factory installed ldws is the issue. The issue that a $799 blackvue doesn’t include an entry level ldws while a $130 viofo does.

            • +5

@whooah1979: so you would accept a rubbish implemtation of LDWS and diregard other good dashcams because they dont have that function? I would rather the dashcam did its main job well, rather than load it up with rubbish addons that tax its main function (which seems more a gimmick to get more sales). Each to their own i suppose…

  • Great product. Bought the 650S 2CH + Power Magic Pro for a similar price a few years ago and that peace of mind is worth every penny! I expect the 900 to be just as good, although the 4K seems over the top (650S is 1080 @ front and 720 @ rear)

Installing can cost allot though, some places were quoting as much as the dashcam itself to install… Being a true OZbargainer, I watched youtube and found guides to install it myself with a quick trip to Jaycar for some supplies.

    • For number plate reading I can say that 1080p isn't always ideal, esp at 30fps.

  • -1

Looks like DR900S has an option to record FHD @ 60fps, which is the same as DR750S.

    Instant buy

Gonna get rid of my few months old DR750S.

    Thanks OP.

  • Deal is gone :(

    • yer i hesitated because i know nothing about dashcams now sorta wish i jumped on it.

autobarn regularly have big sales i think, and maybe the model below it might drop soon in a future sale.

    • Just an FYI. Autobarn had the exact same 30% off deal during last years Melbourne cup weekend. I missed out on that deal st the time but managed to get it during a 30% off Dash Cam deal during Christmas 2018.

I suspect that something similar will occur so if you missed out this time then just wait a bit for the December 2019 deals.

  • Ordered last night for delivery along with something else. Hopefully they send the order.

  • Got a call today and mine is delayed till friday.

    • My order was delivered.

  • My order has been cancelled

  • Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone will revisit this deal, if you happen to see this, can you reply if the your Blackvue 900s have overheating issue with our Aussie hot weather?

    Thanks!

    • Well my 750s has had no issues in the last 10 months of operation.

      • yep, not many overheating issue with 750s as far as online review. But new 900s seems to have this issue.

    • I have got mine running for a week in Sydney. No problems with hot weather. Saying that it has not been that hot in Sydney in the last week.

      • I'm still doing homework about 900s while waiting for a good deal. Let me know how the dash cam performs :)
