Bose QC35 II at The Gym?

I've never bought a big over-the-ear wireless headphone before, always used in-ear

But I'm thinking of buying the QC 35 ii's.

Are they good for the gym? Will they stay on my head as I move around and stuff?

I bought they TaoTronics and they're great for the gym. I wouldn't want to wreck a #350 pair

  • The thing is, I don't have the money to buy two headphones, but I want to buy a quality pair.

    Hence the conundrum.

  • I wouldn't use them at the gym. You'd want sport headphones or earphones. They'll be water resistant (Eg for sweat). Maybe it's just me but I prefer earphones for working out and headphones for movies.

Wouldn't recommend, they get pretty sweaty pretty quickly.

  • How about Beats Solo Wireless 3 or Beats Studio Wireless (whatever the new model is)

Are they aight for the gym?

  • Back story: for the last 2 years I've used Bose Soundsport Wireless (their premium wireless in-ear solution) at the gym. However a couple of months ago, I got a really really nasty ear infection, hospitalized, etc. Shit was a shit. Now I'm scared for life from in-ear anything. I haven't used any type of headphones/earphones whatsoever for the last 4 months. But now I'm after some over-the-ear headphones, and I wanna use em at the gym too.

    • How did you find the Bose Soundsport Wireless? I'm starting to go to the gym and want a set of sweat-proof in-ears. Do they stay in well when you do stuff like running?

      • They were awesome, highly recommend. Great quality sound, they didn't flop out while running (you get three sizes in the box), and battery is decent too.

    • Use over-ear earphones like these?

(note: not recommending these specifically, just the form factor)

  • If you're really keen for them, then I suggest trying them out in-store at like JB hi-fi, apple, etc., and testing the clamp force.

They are great headphones but I wouldn't recommend using them at the gym as they get stuffy and steamy pretty quick. I much prefer the Jaybird X3 when working out, they're excellent and sweat resistant

You would look ridiculous with huge headphones in the gym. Mind you, many people look ridiculous in the gym when they use the machines incorrectly, or wear terrible tight fitting clothing, when their bodies aren't exactly equipped for it.

  • Would recommend, they are comfortable, haven't gotten loose when I run on the treadmill. They cancel out the annoying songs at the gym. They do get sweaty, must agree, but you can just get replacements ear cups which are like $4. Just wipe them down after you train because the original ear cups smell a little from sweat.

They're the best ones in the business, other than the sony mx 1000mk3 which I haven't tried. It's probably best if you get these. Comfort, sound got hand in hand

If you got an ear infection from earphones I don't think switching to a closed headphones will help as they make a seal to isolate noise hence no air will flow through.
Making you sweat and just might get an infection again.

Just use in ear earphones again and wipe the tips, clean your ears regularly.

  • I think the general consensus is "SWEAT" and that is the truth. It will become a steam sauna in there.. Just get some wireless earbuds.
