Office 365 University - What's The Cheapest Way to Buy?

Hi,
I am a student, and want to buy MS Office 365 for University. I am eligible for Univerisity license, but UNSW has just withdrawn free license that I have been using.

Where can I get it for cheap?

Does your UNI use a .edu.au email extension and do you login, into your email using outlook or exchange? If so your account should be able to download Office 365 Pro for free since A1 packages are free to deploy for students and teachers. I'm confused about why UNSW would remove a free license. The school does not even have to pay Microsoft for anything unless they capped the 250,000 licenses given out. If you still have access to your 1 - 5 TB one drive you should still be able to download office for free.

    • Yes, I am surprised too.. It was working until yesterday, and stopped today. Hopefully just a glitch, fingers crossed.. I will call IT on Monday

Uni students should get it for free.

  • Ask at IT help desk at your uni. They should be able to assist. Maybe you actually still have access to it free, just some minor IT issue etc.

Libreoffice is a free/open source program. Download, install, save files in MS format (.doc, .xls etc).

  • Bump - any solution to this. ANU and UTAS have just cut my free licences off too post graduating
