Every D3: Switch user receives an "Amiibo Portal Item" - sits in stash/inventory

When the Amiibo Portal Item is activated, it generates a rainbow portal. A menu appears in bottom right explaining Amiibo functionality.
This portal indicates that NFC reader is active.

Treasure Goblin Amiibo – When scanned, Rainbow Portal transforms into golden Greed’s Domain Portal
This is a realm filled with piles of gold/loot and Treasure Goblins. Culminates in a boss fight against Greed

All other Amiibos - can only be used outside town. Rainbow Portal disappears and a Champion Pack appears.

Each Amiibo function can only occur once per day – so once for the Treasure Goblin, and then once for all other Amiibos.

This cooldown is not shared with party members – meaning players can share their Amiibo functionality with their friends.

  As someone who has preordered this already, this is just the RRP of the Amiibo which has in game functionality like most Amiibo do. I can't see any deal here? Seems like a product announcement better suited to forms.

  Got mine ordered as well (RRP) hoping Amazon get it as well and it's not an EB exclusive (they don't seem to do that with amiibo in Australia

    EBs site does indeed say it’s exclusive. There has been some cases such as the silver and gold Mario Amiibo.

      Silver Mario amiibo was EB exclusive.
      Gold Mario amiibo was Target exclusive.

      No negs are given to sheep, this is ozbargain where we search to buy products at a better price compared to other retailers.

      If your looking for opinions/reviews there are other websites dedicated to it

            This amiibo is EB/ GameStop exclusive, probably a limited ‘one-off’ print, and likely to be rare (and expensive) in the future.

            It is a bargain (to me) since I can buy it now - new and in pristine box - to add to my complete boxed amiibo collection rather than later at inflated prices and probably unboxed or in scratched boxing from private sellers. History of such events exists out there.

            Being notified of this amiibos’ existence for purchase in AUS via OzB (in this context) is a godsend (thanks OP!) as I was ready to import it from the US - since I had the impression it’s US only (like MegaMan 11 amiibo - English packaging)

            Your opinion is appreciated, But OP saving me from expensive courier shipping and long wait times or/ and potential hoarder prices in the future is a saving - and that to me is a bargain.
