Is This a Legit Genuine Asus?

Since my linksys 9200 is faulty, I need a replacement.

Was looking for a new router on ebay and found this rt-ac88u for $240, other prices is about $400.

Is it legit though? Why is it said oem and never used?

Found this one also, seems too good to be true:

  • I bought it for $207 delivered from China.

    • how was it?

Does it show any signs of fake product?

      • Nope, just another case of Australia being ripped off while LibLab politicians pretend competition works and Communist China pays much cheaper prices.

        • Why is it unboxed then..

  • +1

You should ask them if it runs Asus firmware or some other OEM firmware. I bought a Asus RT-68U OEM which runs T-Mobile firmware and they are some limitations on it, such as no mesh network, T-Mo firmware is very outdated/no security fixes, and it is very complicated to flash other firmware on it (such as tomato, merlin etc). I think the RT-68U cost around $200 and I got an OEM/refurbished one for $60 so I think its a pretty good deal, even though there are some risks if you want to use other firmware on it(such as the original asus). OEMs ones such as T-Mo comes with their own box and different from the normal/typical asus retail boxes.

    • Ic that makes sense

  • if it is labelled "ASSUS" yeah probably
