  • You shouldn't have a problem unless dropping your phone or the replacement screen is causing the issue.

Apple is reducing the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement by A$80 — from A$119 to A$39

    https://support.apple.com/en-au/iphone/repair/service
    Out-of-warranty service
Repairs are considered out of warranty when:

Your iPhone is over one year old
Your iPhone has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications
We might be able to fix or replace your product for an out-of-warranty fee. Your iPhone will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

    https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/terms/repair/retai…
If Apple determines, while inspecting your product, that repairs are needed due to failures of parts that are neither supplied by Apple nor Apple branded - or are needed due to damage caused by abuse, misuse or misapplication - Apple reserves the right to return the product to you without repairing it, and will hold you responsible for the diagnostic fee on the reverse side (this fee includes any applicable tax).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple and its agents will not be responsible for any damage to the product that occurs during the repair process that is a result of any unauthorized modifications or repairs or replacements not performed by Apple or an AASP. If damage results, Apple will seek your authorization for any additional costs for completing service even if the product is covered by warranty or an AppleCare service plan. If you decline authorization, Apple may return your product unrepaired in the damaged condition without any responsibility.

    • Thanks for ur comment.
There is nothing wrong. I just didn't want to pay over $280 to replace my iPhone screen so just went to 3rd party repair shop.
I should go Apple store and ask them to replace my battery.

Be nice to the person serving you. It costs that worker nothing, to pass it through regardless of signs of repair, similarly good manners cost you nothing:)

I wouldn't expect to be an issue, however technically, you can almost be 100% certain that they have covered themself in some way, so they could refuse, based on 3rd party not-authorised repair.
That said, I think would have to be real ahols to pull that clause out and refuse battery replacement. As long as when you did repair, you didn't damage somehow so as to make the battery replacement more difficult for them, then should be fine.

    • I've heard apple refused to replace the battery because the screen replaced from 3rd party repair shop
It was not that bad damage because I dropped from the chair and normally find but was my bad day. T_T and screen was broken.
Hopefully, they don't say anything. Thanks :)

It's understandable. If the screen replacement caused an issue that just hasn't become apparent yet, OP will blame Apple if the discover the issue after the battery replacement. And then we'd be here reading "Apple refuses to cover damage to phone from battery replacement because of previous screen repair!" And you'd be telling OP how bad Apple is for refusing to cover the damage and how it's obviously from the battery because the phone worked fine right after the screen was repaired, etc.

A very convoluted tale you twist there. Lol. If it hasn't become apparent yet then how could they or anyone predict that it shall at some point in time in future become apparent? Your argument for agreements sake is ridiculous. However I find it entertaining, so please continue your lame trolling attempt :)

Wtf LMAO . Your gettin high too much highdry :/ . You are really stretching and twisting reality in such a bizarre way . I certainly would not be saying "how bad apple is" as you have imagined in your future prediction/speculation. Since you are so talented at predicting what shall happen, what are numbers for tomorrow's lotto going to be highdry ?
If you had any idea about marketing and good bussiness, you would realise that apple doesn't want to be refusing service and giving themselves a bad name. More the extreme opposite. Not saying apple is a good company, with the underage underpaid, forced labor, suicides from people jumping out their building etc, and them having to build a net around cos it was so bad, however apple are very very good at marketing, and trying to deliver a good customer experience . Part of that, is delivering kind and friendly service at their apple stores.
They would still be making a profit on battery replacement at $39, it would be foolish of them to give a bad customer service experience by declining the battery replacement service to OP. Would be terrible marketing, the opposite of what apple is known for.

Previously worked in store. You should be able to get it repaired as long as it hasn't contributed to or caused the issue. And if the screen cannot be safely removed or put back on (eg it is cracked and will shatter further if removed to access your battery), you may need to pay for a screen replacement too in order to get your phone back to a working state as they'll generally only cover damage to Apple parts. Otherwise you should be fine as Consumer Law essentially prevents them from being able to refuse your repair based on another component.

    • That's good. I will bring my iPhone to the Apple shop then.
Hopefully no issue with my iPhone. If they said I have to change screen again. I will go to the 3rd party to replace the battery or just using it without changing the battery.
      Thanks!

Only if it's still covered under the ACL. Considering OP is talking about an iPhone 6S, the ACL timeframe has very likely already passed. And Apple certainly doesn't have a general obligation to repair any and all iPhones.
