It's been years since I've had issues with eGift cards but that now sounds like pure luck. I use The "Fuel" (Android) app, does that indicate the difference, I can't see anything mentioned on ones I know take an eGift card.
There isn't a list, however, if you read the fine prints on the egift card, it clearly states that not all Caltex-Woolies accept the egift cards.
The other way to know is, if the convenience store is a "StarMart" or "StarShop", then egift cards cannot be used.
If it's a woolies convenience store, then it accepts egift cards.

They have just started to accept the 4 cents off a litre woolies promo.The Woolworths/Caltex Branded ones are different.
Woolworths sold off their petrol business today. They are still accepting the 4 cent discounts and will continue to earns points for petrol but no mention of wish/egift cards.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen discounted e-gift cards for Caltex if that’s what you’re after. Could be via the Suncorp rewards app which you need a AAMI or Suncorp policy to access

Caltex-Woolworths with 8c signage: Accepted both physical Wish cards and egift cards
